As the sun rose, so did Katerina. She had always been a morning bird, but when he got into the navy she started getting up earlier than she had before.

She tied her mid length brown hair up in the standard military bun and put on her military outfit and aviators.

It was a routine for her, get up, get dressed, go for a run, get ready to work, work, sleep, start over. She enjoyed it. Routines kept her working, they made her want to work, without the next thing to work towards she would get lazy and not get it done.

After she had gone for her morning run she had a quick shower and checked the schedule that had been given to her the night before. She had a half hour before she had to be in the briefing room, she sent a quick message to Mickey letting him know that she was going ok and then set out to start teaching for the first time ever.

"You have all been briefed on what this job will include and you all agreed. So here to teach you is a real life Top Gun graduate who has real life experience with what you will be portraying." All of the main actors were sitting in the briefing room, listening to Admiral Kendrick Miller, eager to learn who would be teaching them all of these dangerous stunts that they had all for some reason agreed to.

"She graduated top of her class-" Everyone perked up when they heard that it would be a woman teaching them, Monica was even more excited now than she was before. "- and she is the perfect person to teach you all."

Katerina stopped in front of the door to the room and took a deep breath before putting her hand on the handle and turning it.

"Capitan Katerina Baird. Call sign: Maverick."

The actors turned their heads to look at the person who had just walked in. She was a fairly tall girl and had brown hair slicked back into a military bun and she was wearing a standard military outfit.

She walked up to the podium and took Admiral Miller's place. She looks at each of them for a moment before speaking. "Hello, my name is Captain Katerina Baird and I will be your 'instructor' if you will for the next 6 months along with Tom, here, who wants to be a part of this." She chuckled. "You will be going through gruelling training to be ready to film and I'm sure by the end of it you all will hate me!" Everyone laughed at this.

"You will have to go through many training exercises before you are allowed to fly the f-18, including workouts, water survival training, and of course piloting classes." She finished with a sigh. "I hope you're up for it."

By the end of the week she had met with Tom and the directors a few times and they had a schedule down. They would start off with taking the actors into the air in some small planes piloted by the both of them, just to get them used to the parts of the plane and the air. In Between this getting them into shape to be able to withstand the G forces. Then they would continue taking them up into more advanced aircrafts until the F-14 super hornet. During learning with those planes they would have to do water survival training. All of this with flying classes and cinematography classes in between. They were in for a lot.

It was the middle of the first week, and they were just finishing taking the actors up into the air. Katerina was in the plane with Monica and Lewis behind her, getting them used to it. Tom was in another plane beside hers with Miles and Glen behind him.

"Can I take a picture with you?" Monica turned to Kat in the middle of their ride. "Right now?" She looked surprised that she had brought her phone and Monica made a face that said 'why not'. So Maverick shrugged her shoulders and replied "Sure." Before looking over to Monica and the camera and posing for the picture.

She and Tom did some more fancy maneuvers to get them used to it. It was very funny watching their reactions. Everyone tended to react to G forces differently, some shouted, some were in shock and most seemed to throw up.
