When the cast of Top Gun: Maverick comes to Top Gun to learn how to fly a jet, and it turns out their instructor is the real life version of Maverick.
This is based off of another story that I loved and wanted to make my own version.

After her encounter with Miles in the hallway, Katerina went to bed and thought about what she had done. Sure she liked him, and sure she wanted to go on the date with him. But then she started to think about down the line.
What if something did take off, what then? They finish the movie, he goes back to LA and she gets shipped out again.
What then?
She went to sleep thinking about this and woke up with the same thoughts on her mind as she got ready.

Maverick goes for the same morning run that she always dose in the mornings. When she's out on a detachment she wakes up and gets to work, when she doesn't have to do that, she doesn't know what to do with herself, so she runs.
Its good for her, she need to run. When she runs her problems disappear.

Katerina Baird hates technology.
She has never understood it, the only things she can get to work is the tech in her plane, and her phone and computer.
The only reason she can work her computer is because she went to the store and asked the guy to teach her how to write emails and complete her forms. If she did not have to fill out forms and email her CO's she would never use one again, but she dose.
She understands how the tech in her planes work because she studied the manual so much that the coding might as well be imprinted on her brain.
She doesn't like cameras either. She cant understand them. So, in her impromptu to camera class to teach her how to film inside the place like the actors have to she is doing terrible.
They told her two days before she had to fly for the film that they needed shots from inside her cockpit, so she needed to learn how to do it herself. Katerina prides herself in being a fast learner, but with technology she could cross that off her list.
It took her the full two days to get the minimal understanding that she needed to fly and she barley did it.
She is appalled by the sigh that she is greeted by as she runs out to the runway near lake Tahoe, where they are filming. Her precious aircraft cockpit is full of camera tech and she can barley see above it all.
She can hear the rest of the crew laughing at her face. "Its just for a bit Mav." Glen says as he passed by her shocked face, laughing as he walks away.
She climbs in and gets her bearings as she checks her systems and begins the real pre-flight checklist, and then starts her personal pre- flight checklist, something that isn't a insisted upon rule for most, but it is for her.
They ascend to the pre determined altitude and star the filming. For most of the scenes Kat is to in them, so she fly's in circles around them as they follow the flight path in their NAV systems.
She laughs when they fuck up they flying and has to hide her snickers when they fuck up their acting, she feels bad for whoever has to edit this.
