When the cast of Top Gun: Maverick comes to Top Gun to learn how to fly a jet, and it turns out their instructor is the real life version of Maverick.
This is based off of another story that I loved and wanted to make my own version.

They followed Katerina as she walked through the bar doors and just like that she was gone. They craned their necks trying to locate her in the crowd. After a minute of looking they decided to get a few beers and try to find her later.
The bar was packed, the majority of the people wearing military uniforms made it seem as though it was the actual Hard Deck.
After about 15 minutes of the group chatting in a corner of the bar Katerina looked away from the group of aviators that she was talking with and noticed the actors looking like lost puppies.
She said goodbye to her group and stalked over to them, when she had made her way to them she grabbed Miles and Monica's hands and started dragging them towards the pool table, where some of the people who were in her Top Gun class were waiting.
"Guys, these are my students!" She said to the aviators while pointing a hand towards the actors. "Students," She turned to look at them before looking back. "These were my classmates at Top Gun!" She smiled at them all.
After they had all introduced themselves everyone split off into groups around the pool table and chatted amongst themselves. 'Maverick' was playing pool against 'Malfoy', a fellow aviator who had bleach blond hair, hence the call sign, when she suddenly pulled herself away from the shot and stood up straight. "Marshall!" She called out. "Is that you?" She walked away from the table and over towards a man who they assumed was 'Marshal' and asked him, still holding a pool stick in her hand. "This is how I find out your stateside?" Marshal walked over to them and took a spot behind her, he took a glance in the actors direction as he nodded his head towards them before looking back to where Maverick had taken her position at the table once more.
"I just thought I'd surprise you." He looked around the table and said hello to the others that were watching the interaction. His attention was brought back to Katerina when she jammed the pool stick into his stomach, causing him to double over. He looked up to see her staring down at him, resting her weight onto the stick. She patted his shoulder before bringing him in for a hug. "It's good to see you Mickey." He quickly responded. "It's good to see you too, Mav."
Her attention was averted when Danny fake coughed. "This is my best friend and wingman Alex 'Mickey' Marshall. My 'Goose' if you will." She spoke the last bit through a laugh. "So, how was flying with Payrate?" She asked Marshal.
Monica was about to ask who 'Payrate' was when a man with beach blonde hair and blue eyes walked up to Mav, intruding on their conversation. "I think he enjoyed it just fine." He put his arm around Mickey's shoulder, Micky instantly looked unimpressed. "It was not fine, you left me half the time and stole 3 of my shots!" He told him as he pushed Isaacs arm off of him. Isaac took his loss and instead turned to the group actors who were standing a little bit away from the larger group, he put his hand out to shake and introduced himself. "Isaac 'Pirate' Walters."
After Pirate took his leave to go and get a beer Katerina joined the smaller group. "Who was that?" Jay and Glen asked at the same time, before turning to look at each other with raised eyebrows. She chuckled before answering. "That my friends was the real life version of 'Hangman'." They all immediately agreed, they could tell that his ego was way to big! "He's a damn good pilot but he can be the biggest asshole!"
They were all a few beers into the night when the conversation started to get into some more personal topics. "So, why do they call you 'Maverick'?" Lewis asked her. It was a question that had been on all of their minds, and one that they had been meaning to ask her for some time now but they never saw a good opportunity so now seemed as good as ever! She burst out laughing. "That's a funny story." She spoke. She took a long sip of the beer that was currently in her hand before continuing. "I was in flight school and I was in a dogfight against Pirate and I wanted to show off a new move I recently learned. So I came up from behind him, went inverted and flipped him the bird." Everyone burst out laughing, it was not what they were expecting! Through her cries of laughter she continued. "And the best bit was that i had never seen the movie!"
