Real quick I want to wish my fellow gays a Happy and Safe Pride month.

(Also the irony of my posting a chapter for a straight ship is not lost on me)

Manon felt unbridled rage. Being stuck in the middle of a group of drunk people. Not only that but problematic people. Manon looked down at the still full glass. She was squished in between Rebeca and another guy named Adrian who had just been making misogynist jokes all night. "So Madeline how come you haven't taken a sip of your drink?" Rebeca slurred. Leaning more away from the guy who had his hand on her thigh. Manon groaned. "I don't like to drink." Manon mumbled as a loud laugh came from Adrian. "Oh come on baby girl everybody loves to drink." Adrian said as Manon groaned. Moving away from him as he leaned closer to her. "You know maybe you need someone to help you get into the mood." A few laughs came from the table  as Manon rolled her eyes. "I'm going to see if I can get some water." Manon muttered as she walked over to the bar. As she did, another guy named Josh followed her. He seemed tolerable than everybody else. Still seemed kind of like an asshole though. "Not enjoying your time?" Josh asked as Manon rolled her eyes. "What do you think?" Manon asked as the bartender placed a glass bottle of water in front of her. "I didn't want to come here." She mumbled as Josh chuckled. "You know I think Adrian has a small point. I mean you might as well just enjoy yourself here." Josh said as Manon rolled her eyes. Suddenly a loud bang caught her attention. Some drunk person was shouting their lungs off at some women. Manon felt rather bad for her to have such a shitty person do that. God she would punch him right then and there if she knew she wouldn't get her ass beat. "Maybe if this place was less chaotic." Manon mumbled before chugging her water down. She hadn't realized how thirsty she was until now.  To the point she chugged the entire bottle. She took a deep breath. Then it hit her. Something didn't feel right. Adrian walked right over. "Hey Josh, come on man. I thought you were looking for a date. Not chatting with a woman who doesn't seem to show any interest." Adrian mocked as Manon's hands began to feel fuzzy. Suddenly the room began spinning. Manon swayed side to side. "Are you doing okay?" Adrian asked with some concern. "I'm going to head out." Manon slurred as she shakily stood up and slipped off the stool. Stumbling away as she could make out footsteps behind her. "I think you need some help with that." Adrian said as Manon's vision began to blur. "No." She said as she burst out of the bar. A loud man also shouted as Manon continued to rush down the street as best as she could. Her legs felt shaky as she continued to stumble down the road. "Hey let us help you." Adrian said with that fake honeyness in his tone. As the men grabbed her arms. Manon hated this, but she felt like she could not fight it off. All she knew was that she felt awful. She felt weak. And now fear was pooling into her gut. "No, don't." Manon slurred but that didn't stop the men from dragging her away. How was she supposed to get out of this situation? Suddenly a loud honk caught the attention of the two males. Manon managed to break free even in her intoxicated state as she began to stumble away. Her legs and body become weaker every moment. A pair of lights became brighter as she fell to the ground. Her head was spinning and ears were ringing as she felt a hand on her shoulder. She was unable to tell who was shaking her shoulders as everything became black.

"MARIANNE!" Peter shouted as he began rapidly shaking her shoulders. "Peter calm down!" Bryce said as he placed a hand on the shorter male shoulder. He could see the terror in his eyes, and to be fair Bryce understood that. Peter had been on edge as of recently. Bryce could only imagine what had happened. "Hey, there is a payphone over there. I'm going to call the hospital. Stay here with her." Bryce said as Peter nodded. Bryce rushed over to the phone. Placing some spare change into the slot. He quickly dialed nine one one. "Nine one one what's your emergency?" The operator asked. "There is an unconscious woman outside of the Wine and Dine restaurant and bar on ten street. We need an ambulance over here now!" Bryce said quickly. "Do you know what happened to the woman?" The operator asked. "No, me and a friend saw her getting dragged by the arms with two men. We had scarred them off, and she was stumbling away before collapsing." "Do you know this woman?" "Yes, she is a co-worker of ours. Marianne Vacher. I think her last name is Vacher." "An ambulance has been sent your way." Bryce let out a sigh of relief. "Thank you." He said before he hung up before walking back over to Peter. "They are on their way." Bryce said as Peter was taking deep breaths. Looking both ways. Likely to see if the ambulance was coming. Bryce put a hand on his shoulder. "Hey, it will be okay." Peter nodded. "Do you know any way to contact any family members?" Bryce shook his head. Peter gave a sad sigh. "We might want to contact some just in case." Peter said. "I mean I could see if Norman has any numbers in his contacts." Peter grumbled before having his light bulb moment. "I know Daniella, and Marianne live in the same complex together. Maybe she knows a family member who can contact them." Bryce nodded before a pair of flashing lights caught their attention. "We may have to wait until we get to the hospital first." Bryce said as the ambulance pulled up towards them. A group of emts got out. The two men moved aside as the emts checked for a pulse. Doing all the medical stuff before getting her into the ambulance. Bryce and Peter got into his car and followed them back to the hospital. Only they parked into the parking lot. Walking inside both made a beeline for the payphones. "Why are you heading this way?" Peter asked, noticing the taller following him. "To call boss and see if she can get a day off." Peter nodded as the two reached the payphones. Bryce slipped in his change before dialing Norman's number. It took a few minutes before the line picked up. "Hello?" Norman replied. "Norman, Hey so something bad happened. Me and Peter were heading to a bar and we saw Marianne being dragged away by these two dudes, and she looked really out of it, and collapsed. I do not know if she may be work ready on Monday." Bryce explained but all he got back was several beeps and several glitching noises. "Norman, are you there?" Bryce asked. "What hospital are you at?" Norman asked. His voice sounded like a broken record. "St.Peter's hospital." Bryce replied. With that the line went dead. "Hello?" Bryce asked. But nobody replied. He held back any negative words he had in his mouth. Before being tapped on his shoulder. "Daniella said her aunt and uncle are her landlords. She said she's calling them." Bryce nodded. "Then let's find out where Marianne's room is."

A sharp snip rang through the room as he placed the rose in with the rest of the bouquet. Tying them with a ribbon and placing them in the paper bag alongside a tub with homemade brownies, and a note card. He felt mildly embarrassed by this. It would send a very apparent message to her. Yet show his concern. Norman flicked the light switch off as he left his penthouse. Locking the door behind him. The walk over there was quite a long one, but one that was well worth it. After getting the room number he began to make his way to it. His nerves are growing. It could be possible that a member of Manon's family was there. Then he may have to explain his behavior. When he arrived the light was still on, and the door was open. Norman slipped in and saw an elderly man lying in the chair. He was likely an uncle, or cousin of Manon's. Considering he knew her parents lived in France. In the hospital bed lay Manon. A heart monitor hooked up to her body as chest steadily rose and fell. Next to her was a bedside table with a vase on it. Norman placed the flowers in the vase and the bag next to them before looking back at Manon. He wanted to stay with her all night. Fully make sure she was okay. Yet he didn't want to see her reaction to his gift. He looked down at her hand laying right in front of him. Part of him was tempted to reach out and grab it. Hold it, and assure her everything would be okay. Yet he knew right now he couldn't. "Get well." Norman whispered as he tried to turn his feet to leave. Yet his feet would not move. As if he was glued to the ground. Unable to move away. Norman sighed before finding the strength to walk out. He could call Manon later. Perhaps on Sunday. Surely she would be out then. Though Norman still felt a twinge of fear. Leaving her alone, and not making sure she would be okay when she woke up. As he exited the hospital he now wished he had.
