Norman stirred a bit in his sleep. His chest felt a bit warm, but something felt off. As if a pressure had been lifted off of it. Not only that but he felt the need to pee. He rubbed his eyes before sitting up quickly realizing Manon was not next to him. He panicked a bit before hearing the toilet flush. In a few minutes Manon entered the room, looking rather sleepy, her eyes quickly landing on him. "Sorry did I wake you?" Manon asked as she made her way back over to the bed. Norman shook his head. "No, but I gotta use the restroom." Manon nodded as she crawled back into bed while Norman left for the bathroom. Taking care of his business, rather thankful that he didn't have a hangover, before finally returning to the room. Looking over he saw the time was six a.m. Usually at this time he would start breakfast, and just get on with his day. Why waste that time with going back to bed? He could get so much more done. He was tempted to start making breakfast yet looking back at Manon he wasn't too sure what he wanted too. Based on how quiet it was he assumed Manon had fallen back asleep. Though he thought back to some nights where he felt kind of lonely. Not many people were wide awake at six a.m, and while he didn't care at times, some nights he wished he had someone to share it with, or maybe that he should've gone back to sleep. Manon was clearly trying to get back to sleep, and Norman didn't have the heart to force her to stay awake, nor did he have it to leave her alone. He slipped back into his bed. Rolling over to his side before pulling her close to him. Wrapping his arm around her waist before pressing a kiss to her cheek. He heard a soft hum as he couldn't help but feel butterflies in his stomach as he moved his chin to lean on her head. It honestly felt rather nice. Staring down at her as she slept peacefully. Eventually his eyes grew heavy. It wouldn't hurt to close them. So he did. Minutes passed when he felt shifting in his arms. He didn't bother to move. He was quite comfortable. Only adding to his comfort was a pair of arms wrapped around him. Several more minutes passed before he felt shifting in his arms again. By now he was definitely more awake, and knew who was causing the movement. Though he felt a little anxiety that she would leave because he wanted to stay with her in his arms. He stirred a little not wanting to really get up. Then he felt a hand move some of his hair out his face. Norman peaked open his eyes to see Manon staring at him. "Good morning sleepy head." She said as Norman let out a chuckle. Yeah right he had been up for hours. "Good morning." He replied before she gave him a kiss on the lips. Norman moved a hand over to cup her cheek before parting. That's when he noticed the light streaming into the room. "Wait, it's daylight outside?" Manon let out a confused chuckle. "Yeah?" Norman wasn't used to falling back asleep after he woke up. It was usually hard for him to do so. "How long have you been up?" Norman asked. "Almost an hour at this point I didn't really want to wake you." Norman melted a bit at how considerate she was. Though he was still rather surprised on how long he had even slept. He could've sworn he had been up the entire time. Manon finally connected the dots as a grin appeared on her face. "Did you think you were awake the entire time?" Manon said with a laugh as Norman felt a little embarrassed. "Yeah! It felt like barely any time had passed!" He said as laughter began to bubble out of him while Manon was bursting into laughter. He couldn't help but laugh along, though he also paid attention to her laughter. It sounded like a beautiful melody he could listen to for hours. Eventually their laughter died down. The two looked at each other with bright smiles before pressing another kiss to her lips. "Shall I start on breakfast?" Norman asked as he sat up. "You mean we start on breakfast?" Norman smiled at the suggestion as the two got out of bed before making their way to his fridge. Norman opened it and looked through it. It was well stocked. "Anything in particular you want?" Norman asked as he looked over at Manon. "Waffles?" She replied as Norman gave another smile and a nod. The morning was actually rather nice. Norman made coffee, while Manon made the waffles. Even adding in some blackberries. Though they both noticed the dirty dishes from the previous night. Norman did those as well. When breakfast was ready both settled for eating in front of the television. After all, the morning was going rather chill. Norman found he could get used to this. He would like to get used to this. Even though he's been through plenty of peaceful mornings, this one had to top them all.
Manon had spent most of the morning at Norman's. Just the two of them relaxing. Her mind was still reeling from last night's kiss. Not only the fact that they had kissed, but the fact that she had the confidence to kiss him on the lips this morning. His lips had been much softer than she had expected, but she found she could get addicted to it. He even walked with her back to her apartment. Though both had things to do and couldn't really hang out for the rest of the day. "I'll see you tomorrow." Manon said as she opened the door. "See you." Norman replied before he gave her a quick kiss on the lips. Though not too long after Manon had closed the door, some rapidly knocked on the door. That wasn't how Norman knocked. Who was at the door? Manon looked out the peephole to see Daniella, and Cassie. As soon as she opened the door Daniella rushed into the apartment. "YOU'RE DATING OUR BOSS?!" She shouted as Cassie casually walked in behind her. Closing the door while Daniella shook her. "Dani, stop shaking her." Cassie said as Daniella let go of her. Manon had to stand still for a moment. "Sorry." Daniella said as Manon finally recovered. "Okay first of all, you could've just said hello to start off with. Second of all, yes, and third of all please don't shake me again." Danilla shrinked in on herself. "Sorry." She muttered again. As Manon patted her shoulder it's alright. "But I have to know, when did this happen? And also how? And also did he hire you because y'all were dating?" Daniella shouted as her injured wing tried to flap out from the bandage. "Daniella, you're putting more stress on your wings." Cassie said as she placed her hands on Daniella's shoulders before her wings visibly relaxed. "Cassie is right, you do need to relax a bit. But to answer your questions, no he did not hire me because we were dating. I was actually hired before we were dating. Also we have been dating for a few weeks, and I know you are going to ask this, no I have not received a raise of any kind. If anything I am sure my salary is lower than yours." Manon explained. She was fairly certain Daniella had been suspicious for a while. It was only fair for her to know now. Daniella nodded as she seemed more relaxed now. "Ohhh, also you're right about the salary. I think mine is about double the one of yours." Manon nodded, it was fair considering Daniella likely had a more important position in the office than her. "See, I told you, you didn't have much to worry about. Also we got to go take your meds." Daniella sighed. "Yeah, also sorry about the intrusion again." Manon just smiled brightly. She could understand the reason for the freakout. "It's alright, also we got to plan sometime when it's just us." Both nodded. "Yeah absolutely, see you." "Bye." The two women said as they began to leave though Manon noticed how Cassie had an arm wrapped around her shoulder. Not only that but because of the cropped top Cassie was wearing Manon could see parts where her flesh seemed to have gills. That was a rather interesting interaction, and maybe another day Manon would ask about the gills.
