An Invite to Game Night

A week had gone by, and things were slowly returning to normal. Well as normal as things could get. A large amount of paranoia was with Manon. Nightmares had been happening almost every night. Though things were calming down. Norman had been staying with her for the entire week, which made things better. Not by much, but it was better than being alone. Multiple late nights of the two just cuddling, sometimes trying to actually get back to sleep. At this point Norman's stuff had taken up half of her apartment. Though with recent events Manon had not been going out as much. Even if she really didn't go out much, but Daniella was about to change that. "Come on Marianne, I promise nothing crazy. It'll be just me, you, Cassie, Fiona, Katie, and Violet, at my apartment having a game night. Pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee." Manon let out a loud sigh. Daniella was practically acting like a child at this point. Giving her puppy dogs. This was pathetic. Especially in front of some of their other coworkers. "Fine." A bright smile appeared on her face as her wings expanded to their full length. Some feathers flying out. "YES!" She shouted slightly floating. "Alright see you on Saturday." And with that she left. Manon let out a contempt sigh before shaking her head and getting back to work. Slowly other coworkers left to get to the daily grind. Then Lucy walked in. "Good morning Marianne." She said as she walked in with a broom and a dustpan. "Good morning Lucy. How are the new wires?" Lucy shrugged. "Taking some getting used to but they are perfectly fine." Lucy answered as she began to sweep up Daniella's feathers. Manon hummed with content as she began getting Norman's coffee ready. Lucy raised a brow as Manon brewed the coffee. "I really hope that boyfriend of yours get somebody new soon, otherwise nothing in the place will be clean." "He's working," Manon paused, her face flushing a bright red. She looked back at Lucy who had a smug look on her face. "How did you know?" She asked. Neither of them had really told anyone, with the exception of Daniella of course. Lucy rolled her eyes. "Oh come on now. He comes in after work has officially started, and after lunch break is over, and chats with you for a while. Girl it's kind of obvious. I'm just glad I got you to admit it." Lucy said with a wink as Manon rolled her eyes. "Fine you caught us, we're dating." Manon replied as Lucy shrugged. "Just don't let him abuse his power too much on you." "Don't worry he doesn't. I know for a fact I'm paid less than other people here, and he's never talked about me getting a promotion or anything." Lucy nodded as the elevator dinged and Norman stepped out. "I'll leave y'all be." She said with a wink as she walked off still leaving some feathers on the floor. She probably gave the same look to Norman because he flushed a little. "So you told her." He said as he approached. "She actually found out all by herself." Norman nodded as he took a sip. "She is wondering when you're going to get someone new." Manon said as Norman nodded. "I actually have two people lined up for interviews. I'll have to see but I think I may hire both. I just need to see how they do in the interview." Manon let out a surprised, but pleased hummed. "I really hope you do. It would be better for everyone, especially so Lucy isn't dealing with nine floors." Norman nodded in agreement. "Though I think we might start integrating a new policy of background checks for people." Manon raised a brow. "Is it because of Wilbur?" She asked, a slight sadness coming over the two.

"Yeah." He replied as he moved his hand over to Manon's. Gently squeeze it. Manon leaned on his shoulder. A sense of comfort like most of their mornings had been throughout this time. Though it also was filled with small amounts of dread. The two stood there with each other for quite a bit. To the point it felt a little too long. "How long has it been?" Manon asked as Norman hummed before looking down at his watch. "OH SHIT!" Both had not realized how long it had been, and by now both of their feet hurt. He sighed as he turned back to her. "I have to go." He pouted as Manon also felt a bit of sadness. He pressed a quick kiss to her cheek, and tried to dash off, before Manon grabbed his tie and pulled him for a kiss to a lip. When she pulled back he was a little stunned before relaxing. "See you later, love." He said before walking off. "See you dear." She said as she heard the elevator door dinged. While Manon couldn't help but smile.

Manon looked in the mirror. Making sure not a hair was out of place. She didn't feel like dressing too fancy. A simple coral turtleneck sweater, a pair of dark purple pants, black heeled boots, and silver necklace with a white gem diamond in the center. Nerves were boiling in her. She looked good, and she wasn't going far, and yet she felt panicked. Even though it wasn't going to be far, and it was also going to just be at Daniella's apartment. Not to mention it was just casual, and she looks casual, and yet it felt like it wasn't enough. A few knocks came from the bathroom door. Startling her a bit. "Yeah?" She asked. "Are you okay? You've been in there for an hour." Norman asked, slightly concerned. "Yeah, I'm fine just doing some last-minute touches..." Manon trailed off. "May I come in?" Norman asked, "Uh sure." Manon replied quickly as Norman opened the door. Quickly taking notice of her nervous expression. "Is everything alright?" He asked. "Just a little nervous. I haven't really been, you know, out much, and I guess I'm just nervous about it." Noman gave her a sweet smile as he walked over to her before hugging her from behind. Manon was a little surprised by that but melted a bit into the touch. "What are you doing?" Manon asked. "Hoping to make you feel more comfortable." Norman replied. "Is it working?" Manon gave a small chuckle. "It is." She replied before pressing a kiss to his jawline. The two stood there for a few more minutes. Giving Manon some confidence boost. "I think I'm ready." Norman let go as the two walked to the front door. "Go have fun tonight. I'll be here holding down the fort." Norman said as he pressed a kiss to her lips. Manon smiled brightly. "I will." She said before leaving the house. A bit more confident as she walked over to Daniella's apartment. Knocking on the door gently. She could hear the faint sound of music playing from the other side. After a few minutes the door opened and Daniella emerged from the door. "Madeline! Come on in." She said as Manon took one step over the threshold, small bits of fear following her, and yet a lot of confidence when she walked into the room.
