Manon walked over to the payphone. Placing in two quarters before turning the all too familiar numbers. The phone rang for a few minutes. Only for it to not pick up. Manon sighed as she put the phone back on the hook. She didn't know how to feel about Rody and Vincent dating. Let alone what they were doing in the bedroom. She felt her stomach drop remembering the words she had told Rody.
"Just be safe." What was she thinking? What he was letting Vincent do to him was not okay. His wounds could get infected. But what could she do? Rody may not believe her if she were to tell him the truth. She knew when Rody fell in love he was completely devoted to his partner. To the point of getting rid of so much just for one person. She was stuck in this loop. Maybe she could talk to Norman about this?
But she didn't want to spill the fact that Rody liked men, and he and Vincent were dating. A chill went down her spine, and despite the sun shining into the hall. It felt uneasy. That was until she saw him in the hall. Walking slowly towards her. Manon remained frozen in fear. Her heart was pounding so loud you could hear it flowing around the room. Cold dead eyes locked onto hers. Manon let out a shaky breath as one thought hit her mind.
"Run." Flight took over, and while she didn't sprint up the stairs, she did speed walk away. Rushing up the stairs as Vincent continued to walk towards her direction at a faster pace. Now Manon knew he was not there for the phone booths. As she had paused when she had reached the second story and Vincent was walking towards the stairs. Manon continued to rush up the stairs before making it to the third floor. Slipping in and returning to her seat with Norman. He noticed how shaken up she was. Putting an arm around her pulling her in close.
"Do you want to talk about it?" Manon nodded.
"Later though." Norman nodded as they sat through the rest of the presentation.
"Seriously?!" Norman exclaimed as Manon shrugged. Of course he was good at fishing out information from other people and spilling all of it felt good, yet she felt a tiny bit of guilt. Norman sat there still processing the information he was just given.
"I didn't really want to know about the kink thing. But I see why you're concerned." Manon sighed as she flopped down onto the bed next to him.
"I just don't know what to do." Manon sighed before putting her head in her hands. She felt like she was about to tug her hair out by the roots.
"Hey." Manon parted her fingers to look up at him.
"We'll figure it out. I have no doubt he won't hurt you or try anything while they are overseas." Manon gave him a small smile. Being met with his reassuring smile.
"As for Rody, do you have any ideas what you may do?" Manon shrugged.
"I want to maybe try to tell him, but," Manon sighed,
"I feel like I'm being paranoid, but I know he can be overly possessive over his partners. I don't know if I should tell him the truth. I fear he won't believe me even with my injuries." Manon said as she leaned against him. Norman wrapped an arm around her.
"And even if he does believe me, what if it puts Rody in danger?" Norman nodded. Even if he didn't give her any advice she was happy to have him there to vent out her frustrations.
"I know it's not my place, but if you want me to tell him I will be willing to do so. If not I think at least being his friend, and offering support if he needs it." Manon thought about it. He did have a good point there. Maybe she could offer him her new number.
"Thanks." Manon said before pressing a kiss to his cheek. Norman looked at her confused.
"For what?"
"For just listening." Norman brushed some of her bangs out of her face.
"You don't need to thank me for that." Norman replied before giving her a kiss on the lips. He seemed to be good at giving her a sense of comfort. A sense that would soon be ripped away from her.
