Skipping Out

Manon looked into the mirror before taking in a deep shaky breath. She made sure her bandage was hidden under her long-sleeved dress and blouse. She was wearing a sparkly navy-blue dress. Under a black knitted blouse. Black tights and a pair of matching blue high heeled shoes. Another shaky breath before she looked at her partner for comfort. Norman was finishing combing out his hair before returning his look to Manon. "Hey." He said as he took her hand in his. "We don't have to go, if you don't want to. We can stand them up and come up with a lie like we just got lost or something." Norman said as Manon nodded. "I know, and now I'm having second thoughts. I'm not sure if I can do this. What if he tries to kill me again?" Manon asked as she slumped down against the counter. Her legs were shaky. She felt like she might faint. Tears were threatening to flow, and it made her happy she didn't put on a mascara. "Hey. Sit down." Manon nodded as she slumped to the floor with Norman helping to ease her down. His hands gently gripped onto her shoulders.

"Take a deep breath in." He said gently as he removed his hands from his shoulders. Moving to hold hers. "Do you need water?" Manon nodded as Norman got up and left. He came back just as quickly with a bottle of water. Opening it and handing it to Manon. Manon immediately snatched it and chugged a good chunk of it. "Do you still feel like you are going to faint?" Manon nodded her head. "Yeah, Thank you." Norman nodded and gave her a smile. "You don't have to thank me." Norman said as he reached for her hand. Manon took it. "I don't think I can do it." "That's okay." Manon gave a hesitant smile. "I wish there was something I could do to get my mind off of this." Manon said as she curled over his knees. She didn't want to think about it anymore. Not about Vincent, not about Rody, not about her attempted murder. She just wanted it to be over. Norman remained quiet for a bit before he poked her shoulder. Manon looked up at him. "I think I got an idea." Before Manon knew it they were out the door. Going the opposite direction to where they were supposed to be going. Norman looked rather excited.

"Where are we going?" Manon asked as Norman practically dragged her through Boston. Not too far from their hotel. "Well I got a little clue from a local that there is a night club right here." Norman said happily as they stood in front of a large building. Manon raised a brow and looked at him. "I didn't think night clubs were your things?" Manon said as Norman. "They aren't, but hey it's something to do." Manon gave a smile. She hadn't really gone clubbing before. So it would be something new for both of them. "We are going to stick out like a sore thumb." Manon said as Norman shrugged slightly embarrassed. Clearly embarrassed by his attempt. Manon wasn't going to let it go to waste. "Then let's go." Norman was surprised by Manon dragging him in. But seemed rather happy about it. Surprisingly they did not look that out of place. Manon's dress was a bit more conservative, and some of the men had their jackets off, but other than that they weren't too far out of place.

Several tables lined against the wall. Alongside a bar to their right. A few people sat at the tables enjoying their drinks. A few were gathered at the bar. But a majority of them were on the dance floor. Dancing to their heart's content. The music was blaring and the lights were colorful as ever. "Woah." Norman said as he looked around. "Woah is right." Manon said before the two walked over. To the bar. The only available free spot was next to two middle aged men. One was a little chubby and had white short cut hair. While the other had mid length red hair and oddly wearing sunglasses. The two were obviously not from there. The red haired male had a Scottish accent, and the white haired male had a British one. The two were bickering over something that was completely irrelevant. One of the bartenders noticed the two. "What can I get you two?" "I'll take white wine." Norman said while Manon looked over. "I'll take the side car." The bartender nodded before getting to work. Manon looked over before raising a brow at Norman. "Wine?" "I'm a creature of habit." Norman replied as his wine was placed right in front of him. "Besides, I'm already stepping out of my comfort zone." Manon sighed. "You have a point." She said as her cocktail was placed in front of her. Norman hands a usual wine glass, while Manon glass looks like a bigger bowl with an orange drink inside. "Cheers to forget shitty exes." Norman said as he held up his glass. Manon held up hers. "Cheers."

"Stop." Manon said through her laughter. "It's true though!" Norman exclaimed, laughing. Both were very clearly tippy. Norman had switched out from wine to a different cocktail called the gimlet. Which definitely was getting him more drunk. Then a familiar tune. "Oh my god I love this song!" Manon exclaimed as she grabbed Norman's hand. Dragging him straight to the dance floor. Norman gave a bright smile as they maneuvered their way through the crowd. Before eventually getting a spot on the dance floor. The two held hands as they danced and twirled around. All while the beautiful melody played in the background. Norman as usual was a bit of a wild dancer. Sometimes yanking her in different directions and twirling her at random.

Sometimes they would let go of each other. Just to do their own little dances. Such as both of them doing the twister, and Manon doing The Little Eva. "Is it just me or is it hot?" Norman asked slightly out of breath. While he and Manon were hand in hand. Manon could see the sweat running down his face. A bright smile was on his face. "I think it's both." She said, equally you of breath. Both had bright smiles on their faces. Before she knew it their lips were pressed against each other. Manon's arms wrapped around his neck, and his snug on her waist. Manon could feel herself go lower and it wasn't until they parted did she realize she was being dipped. Norman looked at her with love in his eyes. Just at her and nothing else. "Shall we cool off a bit?" Norman asked as he lifted her and a new song began to play. "Yeah." She said through huffed breaths. While walking off Norman removed his jacket, and Manon her blouse. Several different people have their bodies crashing into them, but they were intoxicated enough to care less.

The rest of the evening was spent going back and forth from the bar to the floor. Alongside a few trips to the bathroom. By now it was seven. "I think we ought to retire for the night." Manon said as she swayed a bit. Crashing into Norman while she did so. "Careful Love, you're going to get hurt." Norman said as he tried to stabilize her. Though his attempt was very miserable as he was swaying back and forth. "You're wanting to talk darling." Manon slurred causing Norman to laugh. "Alright let's get going." He said as he placed cash down for the bartender before the two left. Stumbling down the streets while walking back to their hotel room. Bright smiles and laughter showing they did not have a care in the world. It was just them in their little drunk world.
