The day had thankfully come to a calm. It seemed whatever happened that morning just remained through the whispers of employees which eventually turned into casual chatter. Manon was rather relieved. That was until it was time to leave. As usual Daniella was waiting for her. It was a nice relief just in case Wilbur was still around. But as they were exiting the elevator they walked onto a scene that neither of them should have. Norman was standing there with Manuel, and the front desk receptionist who was named Miss Clark. All three seemed to be rather annoyed at a tall tan man in a purple business suit. None of them took notice of the two women except the unfamiliar man. "Excuse me ladies." "Do not bother other employees, this doesn't concern them." Norman said as he looked over at them. His eyes darkened as he did. Manon he didn't acknowledge them from there on. Manon got the hint from there. She would call Norman later. The two women began walking by. Overhearing the conversation as they did. "Sir, if I am not getting any information from the three of you. You are avoiding a serious lawsuit." "And as I said before, your case is stupid. If your client did not know the last name, or even bothered to give you a description then you need to reconsider the longevity of your case." Norman replied as both tensed up. The two gave each other a knowing look. "Sir the accusations are rather serious, and if you continue to deny us access to contact this employee we will get law enforcement involved." "Shouldn't you have done that in the first place? Especially since you are making an acquisition of physical assault, and possibly even murder." Manuel said rather calmly, though both of them could hear annoyance in his voice. The unfamiliar man began to stammer as his eyes darted over from the trio to the two making their way to the exit. "Sir please do leave." The man's posture straightened. "Of course." He replied before making it past the trio. Manon didn't think much of it until she heard footsteps approaching them from behind the two. "Excuse me Marianne." Manon froze before realizing it was a stupid mistake. She tried to continue walking away, but someone grabbed her arm. She tried to pull back only to be met with the man who was around her height. "Hey let go of her!" Daniella shouted. "Ma'am you have been avoiding us. We need a way to contact you so can we go forward with the trial. Manon was practically frozen. "I think you have the wrong person." She said as she snatched her arm back. "Ma'am you wouldn't have responded to the name otherwise, and if you keep denying contact we will have to call the police." Manon scowled as she looked at him, something was familiar about him. "If that was the case then why did you not get law enforcement involved in the first place." Manon shouted as she began to step back. The man had an angry face. "Here is the number you can contact, but ma'am we need your contact information as well." "Excuse me, but you can kindly go suck a dick, and leave us alone." Daniella shouted with her wings stretching back. "Ma'am you need to calm down before I actually call the police on both of you." "Hey!" The man became startled as Norman quickly approached. "When we asked you to leave the premises, that was not an invitation to harass our employees. Sir the only person who needs the cops called on them is you." Norman said angrily. The man gulped before scampering off back towards the building, and into the night. "Are you two alright?" Norman asked as the two nodded. Daniella began to walk away as Manon walked closer. "I'll call you later." Norman nodded as Manon rushed to catch up with Daniella. "What did you say to him?" Daniella asked. "Just showing him the card." Manon replied, as Daniella just shrugged it off.
Manon still felt rather unsettled after what had just happened. She was left pacing back and forth. She had called Norman at least twice, but he did not pick up either time. When a knock came to her door Manon nearly jumped out her skin. Who was knocking on her door at this hour? She slowly approached the door. Her heart was pounding as she looked out the peephole. Only to see Norman standing there. She let out a sigh of relief as she unlocked the door. "You scared me." Manon said as Norman had a sorry look on his face. "Sorry, I know you said you would call, but I just... I wanted to talk in person." Manon nodded as she moved to the side and let him inside. The two sat down on her couch. "Can you explain what was happening when me and Daniella were leaving?" Manon asked. "Miss Clark had called me down, because Manuel, and her were having a hard time getting him to leave. He claimed to be a lawyer, and even as other employees were leaving he was bothering them as well. He was once again asking for some way to contact you again. We had denied it several times. I didn't think when he left that he would go after y'all." Manon nodded before recalling his wording. "What do you mean by claimed?" Norman pulled out a business card that was similar to the one Manon got. "Let me see yours." Manon pulled it out as he looked at the two before moving them so Manon could see them better. Now looking at them side by side she could see several indecencies. For starters the font for hers was more centered compared to Normans. Not only that, but the phone numbers were different. Perhaps the only discrepancy she could excuse was the signatures. "He gave one to Manuel, and we noticed differences on the cards like these." "So this is just a giant prank now?" Manon said before groaning. Now she recognized him. He was Rebeca's boyfriend. This was absolutely stupid. "Let's hope it remains that way because if they are willing to go this far just for a prank I don't want to know the rest of the way they'll go." Manon felt her body tense up. Was this going to turn into another nightmare? She had already left France for one, and she didn't really have any relatives in any other country. A gentle hand was placed on her shoulder. "Hey. Manuel's working on keeping an eye on things. If they start to escalate things more we'll call the cops, and actually take care of this." Manon nodded. It was a sweet sentiment, yet there was a bit of guilt building up. Nobody in her work should have to put up with this. It was really between her and Rebeca. "Thanks, but you shouldn't have to be dragged into my problems." Manon replied as she looked away. "I don't care. Because now they are making this more than just you and Rebeca. Don't forget she's thrown me into this shit as well." Manon gave a small smile to him. It made her feel a bit better about the whole thing. "You don't have to do this alone." Norman said before placing a kiss on her cheek. When he pulled back she placed a kiss on his cheek. "I know." She whispered as she laid her head on his shoulder. She could feel his heart beating a bit faster. His hand tracing over to her other shoulder. It was honestly nice just the two of them. As the conversation drifted away leaving the two in a comfortable silence. Moments like this perhaps should be cherished knowing the stress that will come from this. Though it was broken by hunger growing. "Have you had dinner yet?" Manon asked. "No. Have you?" Manon shook her head. "Do you want to go get food?" Norman asked. "Yeah." Manon replied as she sat up from him. Leaving her apartment hand in hand off to go get food after a minorly stressful day and the start of no doubt a beginning of something else stressful.
