IVY GRIMACED AS SHE STOOD ABOVE A DEER CARCASS. Lincoln was leading her and Bellamy to the entrance of Mount Weather, and their plan was for him to pretend to be a Reaper and turn them in to be turned into one. The Grounder man cut open the deer, and Ivy watched with a weird look as he rubbed the blood all over his face to disguise himself. Bellamy raised his eyebrows. "Okay, so we make it to the intake door without any of the real Reapers seeing us, what happens then?"
"I kill everyone and you slip inside. Limestone," Ivy grabbed a packet out of her backpack and tossed it over to him so that he could makes lines across his face, another signature mark of the Reapers. He stood up and slung his pack over his shoulder, even though most of his things were stored in his many belts. "Let's go, we got a lot of ground to cover before dark."
"Hey, we need to know what happens beyond the intake door. What are we walking into?" the Bishop girl questioned as they began following him again. Up until that point, the goal had just been to get there and get in. They needed to know what was going to happen to them once they were inside.
Lincoln sighed, shaking his head as if he was feeling the pain as he was remembering what had happened to him. "They remove your clothes, blast you with warm water and douse you with something that burns even worse. Then, we were sorted, the other were tagged Harvest. I was tagged Cerberus and turned into a Reaper."
"Cerberus, the three-headed dog who guards the underworld," Bellamy said, and when they looked at him in confusion, he explained, "My mom read mythology to us all the time, Octavia loved it." There was a pause and some silence before he spoke up again, speaking to Lincoln. "You're good for her, you made her strong."
"She was already strong," the man corrected in response.
The Blake man glanced at the girl beside him as they both quickened their pace to match Lincoln's. He raised his eyebrows at the man in question, wondering about the relationship between the man and his sister. "Hey, I need to ask you something. You protected my sister before you even knew her, why?"
"When I was a boy, I saw a ship fall from the sky like Raven's. The man inside was hurt, his body broken. I couldn't get him out," he responded, staring at the ground as he walked. It did not seem to be a very pleasant memory for him, but it must have been necessary to his explanation.
