THE DOOR TO THE CONTAINER FINALLY OPENED. They heard soft whimpering, and they ran out to find Shay lying on the ground with an arrow stuck in her back. Their eyes widened, and Clarke rushed to her side, trying to see if there was anything that she could do to help her. When it was clear that she was going to die no matter what they did, she breathed out, "Machine room. P Level."
"Let's go," Clarke told them, and they all followed after her to follow the instructions. Before she passed her, Ivy reached down and closed Shay's eyes for her, wanting her the rest in peace. Bellamy noticed this and smile softly at her, even though she was not looking at him.
When they finally reached the room, Octavia burst in immediately, despite Bellamy warning them to be careful. Ivy followed her in order to cover her just in case, but when they arrived, they saw a bunch of dead bodies on the ground and Jasper hanging by his wrists, alive. Luna was kneeling with Derrick, her boyfriend, in her arms, and in her hands was a knife that was lodged in his chest. Ivy slowly pieced together what must have happened.
"Oh, no. Oh, no. I'm so sorry," she sobbed out. She had broken her vow of never killing again because her people had been forcefully taken over by ALIE. Dozens of her people were dead, and Ivy felt so awful because it was all their fault. If they had never come, the ALIE would have never been there. Luna would be lying in Derrick's arms. Now, instead, he was lying in hers, and he was dead. Luna let out a painful wail, and to distract herself, the Bishop girl moved over to a young girl in the corner and helped her up, making sure she was okay.
"I'm fine. They couldn't break me," Jasper informed them as Octavia went to go help him out of his shackles. He raised his eyebrows at her, his eyes full of hope for his friend that they had just watched die. "Shay?"
She broke the news to him, and they all looked away and allowed Luna to grive in peace. Later, the people of the rig held a funeral ceremony, and the people from Arkadia decided that they best not be a part of it considering everything that had happened. Bellamy watched them all move around, and he noted, "Any one of them could be chipped and we'd never know."
"If they are, they'll make their move before we put the Flame in Luna. Stay sharp," Clarke pointed out. ALIE needed to be inside the woman's brain before they put the AI in if she wanted to get her hands on the only thing that could destroy her.
