"That intern uniform suits you so well, Taylor," I said, leaning on the reception table, unable to take my eyes off him.
I had come to visit Kalem at the veterinary clinic where he was doing his internships, and the clothes he was wearing looked so good on him. The guy looked attractive in anything he wore, I couldn't deny it.
This hot Kalem Taylor.
Who was my boyfriend.
And whom I loved to show off.
"If you want, you can take it off when we get to the car, little writer," he said, giving me a quick glance, a sideways smile on his face as he filled out some paperwork.
"Shh, keep your voice down, we're in a public place," I whispered, making sure the people passing by hadn't heard him.
"But you love it when I say those kinds of things," he stopped writing for a moment to reach out and pinch my cheek gently.
"But only when we're alone," I whispered back.
"And we'll be alone soon enough, let me finish these forms, and I'll have you all to myself in a few minutes," he smiled in such a charming way that it puzzled me for a moment.
How could he smile at me like that and tease me at the same time?
Kalem and I were going on a date after his shift at the clinic ended. I had decided to wait for him and see how he was doing at work. Although I missed him at the cafeteria, I knew he loved this place from all he told me when he got talkative, like every time something excited him. I could see that sparkle in his eyes, and it made me happy.
I was reading a book on my phone while standing in the hallway when suddenly I felt strong arms wrap around me from behind.
"Now I have you all to myself," he said, planting a kiss on my cheek, making me smile. "Let's go."
We went to the park, but not the same park we always went to, it was a different one, bigger and greener. It was beautiful. We had planned to have a picnic, so we brought everything we needed.
We were lying face down on the blanket on the grass, surrounded by many colored paper sheets.
"So, you want me to teach you origami, Heather del Socorro," he smiled tenderly, running his hand through my hair in such a lovely way.
"Yes, because all I can make are boats, dogs, cats, and some airplanes that don't fly, but it's something," I said proudly. Kalem nodded in agreement.
"So, you're at the beginner level."
"But that's why I have you, to teach me," I said, giving him a kiss on the cheek near his ear.
"You're very flirty today, Heather del Socorro," he said with a sideways smile, placing his hand on my neck to bring our lips together, giving me a slow kiss.
"Me? Flirty? With you, always."
He seemed to like my response, judging by the tender smile on his face and the sparkle in his eyes. Kalem deepened the kiss and slowly laid me back on the blanket while he lay down beside me, almost on top of me. He never broke the kiss.
"Okay, sugar cube," I pulled back slightly, just a little when I felt his hand slip inside my blouse.
"What's wrong?" He gave me that innocent smile, although I knew there was nothing innocent about it.
"You know what's wrong, Kalem Taylor," I ran my hands through his hair gently, just as he liked me to do. He remained on top, propping himself up with his forearms. "We're not doing this in the park."
