Chapter 27
“Lachy can we just go to bed?” asked Marian quietly.
She was dressed in one of her short night gowns, as per usual. He was only dressed in boxers and kept giving her these creepy looks – once again, as per usual.
Lachlan sighed sarcastically.
“I really just want to go to bed, I won’t be getting much sleep tomorrow night,” she said, her voice breaking slightly at the last part of her sentence.
Lachlan smirked.
“Give me a good night kiss?” he asked, leading her up to the bed.
She knew she had no choice.
She sat down on her side of the bed and waited for Lachlan to get in his side. She quietly slipped under the covers and laid her head down on the pillow, cringing as he slipped under right next to her body and pressing up against her – as if there wasn’t enough room for the both of them in the king sized bed.
Lachlan grabbed her chin gently and pressed his lips against hers.
He moaned at the back of his throat with excitement and stroked her thighs, running a finger up and down her legs.
“Goodnight Lachy,” said Marian, breaking out of the kiss and touching his face as she laid back down on the pillow.
“Good night Marian,” replied Lachlan, wrapping his arms tightly around her and nestling his face into the crook of her neck.
He could hardly wait for Friday.

“Archer, everything will be okay,” soothed Seth as they slipped into their warm sleeping bags. “We need to just focus on the vault and getting out of their alive. Marian’s not a little girl that can easily be pushed around – and if it appears like she is it’s because she has to put on that kind of act for Lachlan. She doesn’t want him to think she can actually take him down – otherwise none of us would see her again. He’s obsessed with her and could easily make sure she never got out of there so you really need to stop worrying.”
Archer sighed loudly.
“It’s so hard letting go of a girl you love.”
“It would be harder never seeing a boy you loved again because he made a stupid mistake thinking he could save you,” said Tyler, giving Archer the ‘you know what I’m talking about’ look.
Archer felt himself tense up, he couldn’t keep talking about Marian – not when he was trying to keep everything together.
“Tomorrow we’ll go through our plan one final time. Then, when we get the signal from Marian or Lucas, we go to Lachlan’s house and do what we need to do,” said Archer confidently.

Marian woke to the sound of Guy’s voice.
She opened her eyes and turned to her left side and saw Lachlan sitting up in bed, going through a piece of paper.
He turned to look at her.
“Good morning Marian,” he grinned, turning back to the paper.
He was unusually happy, and Marian had her suspicions it wasn’t just because of their long awaited night. She tried to lean over to take a good look at what the paper had on it, but Lachlan folded it quickly.
