Chapter 2

Casey got home at around one the next day. She and the twins lived in a townhouse in New York City. The boys were at school. Casey unpacked, took a shower and then started dinner.

At around three the front door opened. The twins Drew Jr. and Daniel walked through the door. They were both the tall athletic type, just like their father. They excelled at every sport they played. Both also had 4.0 GPAs. They got their smarts from Casey.

"Boys?" Casey called.

"Yeah, it's us." Drew said. They both came into the kitchen. "Hi mom."

"Hi."

"Hi mom." Daniel said.

"Hi Daniel." "Did you guys enjoy the pay-per-view?"

"The anarchy in the arena match was crazy." Drew said.

"I know."

"We were surprised to see MJF come back." Daniel said.

"You guys want to hear something funny?" MJF asked me on a date."

"Really?" Drew said surprised.

"Yeah." "I said no though."

"So he's not gonna be our new stepdad?" Daniel said smiling.

She laughed. "Very funny Daniel." "Do you guys want to go swimming at aunt Kenzie's after dinner." They both said yes.

They were all sitting down to dinner.

"I got a text from your dad today." Casey said. "He confirmed your tickets to Vegas to go stay with him."

"I can't wait to see Luke." Drew said.

"I can't believe he's gonna be three." Daniel said. "It seems like dad and Monica just told us she was pregnant."

After dinner Casey and the boys went over to Kenzie's house. She was two years younger than Casey. They were all outside. As the boys swam, Casey and Kenzie sat at an outdoor table drinking Margaritas.

"Someone asked me out last night." Casey said.

"Let me guess, you said no?"

"Yeah."

"Casey why do you do this to yourself?"

"I have the boys and we're living comfortably." "That's all I need." "I would've said no regardless, this time it was because he's a kid."

"Who was it?"

"MJF." "I think he's like twenty-eight or something." "I'm not a cradle robber." "That's Drew's department."

Wednesday night Casey was driving to the arena in Arizona. She was talking to the twins on speakerphone.

"I have to go guys." Casey said. "I'm almost there."

"Tell MJF we said hi." Drew said teasingly.

"Ha ha." "I love you both."

"Love you." They both said.

When Casey got to the production area she saw roses at her workstation. She opened the card. It read.

One date beautiful. Please. - Max

Casey got a pen, wrote something on the card and walked off with the roses.

When Max opened his locker room door, he looked down and saw the roses he'd given Casey. On the card she wrote the word no.

A half hour later it was time for Max to go out.

"Why won't you go out with me Casey?" Max asked.

"Because I don't want to." "Among other reasons, you're too young for me."

"I'm twenty-eight."

"I rest my case."

"You're breaking my heart beautiful." She hit his music. He went out.
