Chapter 8

Flashback

Casey was in labor. She had been for twenty-two hours. Drew Jr. had just been born.

"Drew I can't anymore, I can't, I can't." Casey said exhaustively.

"Yes you can." Drew said. "I know you're tired." "You're doing great."

"It's time for the other baby." The doctor said. "Push." She pushed. "You're crowning."

"I see the head." "Drew said. "Push baby, Daniel's almost here." She pushed as hard as she could, hearing crying a few seconds later."He's out." "You did it."  He kissed her forehead. "I love you baby."

"I love you too Drew." She said.

Casey was picking the boys up at the airport tomorrow. She couldn't wait. She was at Kenzie's. They'd had dinner together. Now they were sitting on the couch drinking wine and eating chocolate. Casey got a text. It read.

How was your dinner with Kenzie? - Max

"Max?" Kenzie asked.

"Yeah."

Good. I'm still here. We're just hanging out. - Casey

Text me when you get home. - Max

I will. - Casey

"Casey when are you gonna just give in to what you want?" Kenzie asked.

"What do I want?"

"This." "Oh Max, ohhh." She said in a mocking moaning tone.

She laughed. "I have no interest whatsoever in sleeping with Max or anyone else."

"You're such a bad liar."

"I'm not lying."

"You want Max, you know you do."

"No I do not." "He's my friend, that's it."

"That's not all you want."

"Yes it is."

"The sex would probably be really fun, since he's so much younger."

"Want me to give his number?"

"I'm not the Dekker sister he's interested in." "He's in love with you."

"Max is not in love with me."

"The hell he isn't." "He spent two hours looking for a duplicate of the music box grandma gave you." "Only a man in love would do that." "Plus I can just tell."

"You don't know what you're talking about."

Casey went home and got ready for bed. She got in bed and picked up her phone.

I'm home. I'm going to bed. - Casey

Ok. Goodnight. - Max

The next afternoon Casey was at the airport. When she saw the boys coming she got out of the car. They all had big smiles on their faces.

"Come here." Casey said happily. They all group hugged.

"Hi mom." Drew said.

"Hi." Daniel said.

"Hi." "Did you guys have fun?"

"Yeah." Drew said.

"Luke is getting big."

They decided to go to lunch. They just sat down and ordered. Casey got a text,

"Is that your boyfriend mom?" Drew asked.

"What?" She said surprised. "You know I don't have a boyfriend."

"Yeah you do, Max."

"Yes it is Max, no, he is not my boyfriend."

Drew looked at Daniel. "Dude, nine times out of ten, when we would talk to mom, what would she tell us?"

"Either, I just got done talking to Max." Daniel said. "Or do you want to say hi to Max?" "Or I just got back from lunch with Max." "Max, Max, Max, Max, Max, Max." Daniel said smiling at Casey.

"We just hang out a lot guys."

"It's alright mom, we're not upset." Drew said.

"We think it's great you have a boyfriend." Daniel said.

"I don't have a boyfriend, not Max, or anyone else." "I swear." "Max is a friend, just like I'm friends with Britt." "Nothing is happening between Max and I nothing ever will happen."
