Flashback
The twins were six months old. Casey was awakened at six in the morning by one of them crying. When she opened her eyes she was confused because she was alone. She got up to go tend to the baby. The other one was also crying by the time she went in the nursery. After she got the twins settled she looked everywhere for Drew but couldn't find him. Going back upstairs she noticed his dresser drawers and his side of the closet were empty.
Two weeks later the boys were napping. Casey was cleaning the house. She'd been trying to call and text Drew but they all went unanswered. Her phone rang.
"Hello?" She said.
"It's me." Drew said.
"Where the fuck are you?"
"Vegas." "I got a job in construction out here." "I'm gonna stay."
"What about me?" "What about our boys?"
"I'll still be there for the boys." "I'll send a check every month." "Casey, I'm sorry." "I just can't be in a relationship right now."
"Drew, please don't do this, I love you." She said tearfully.
"I have to go." He hung up.
Casey broke into tears. She didn't know what to do. She felt like her whole world came crashing down in one phone call. A piece of her heart died that day.
End Of Flashback
The following Monday Casey was cooking dinner at home.
"Boys, come on down." She called up to them. They came downstairs. "Dinner's almost ready, will you please set the table?" They started getting things out. "We'll need four plates."
"Is aunt Kenzie coming?" Daniel asked. There was a knock at the door.
"Can one of you get that?"
"I will." Drew said. He went to get it. When he opened the door she was shocked to see Max standing there.
"Hi." Max said. "You're Drew right?"
"Yeah." "Come in." He went inside. They went into the kitchen. Daniel saw Max. Casey turned around.
"Hi Daniel." Max said.
"Hi." Daniel said.
They were sitting down to dinner.
"Max, are you my boyfriend?" Casey asked.
"Nope, we're just friends."
"See?" She said looking at the boys.
After dinner Max played PS5 with the boys while Casey was in the shower. They talked about school starting back up soon, their favorite subjects and the kind sports they liked to play.
After that the boys went to hang out with friends. Casey and Max were cleaning up the kitchen.
"I think you made their year." Casey said.
"Well they're great." "You'll probably go down as mom of the year for this."
That Wednesday night Casey was called into Tony Khan's office. Max and Austin were also there.
"Casey, I'd like you to be part of the upcoming storyline with Max and Austin, because of how close you two are, you'll be Max's one vulnerability." Tony said.
"That sounds fun but I'm not much of an actress."
"You'll do great." Max said.
"Yeah, it'll be fun." Austin said.
"Alright, when to we start."
"Next week." Tony said.
