Chapter 33

Five years passed. Casey's and Max's four year wedding anniversary was in a few days. Maxine was a lot like Max and Mason was a lot like Casey. Like the boys, the girls were exceptionally smart. They were only four and could already read. The closer Drew Jr. and Daniel became to Max over the years, the more distant Drew became. Until he eventually abandoned them altogether. They hadn't heard from him in three years. They bonded even more with Max because of it. They were both in their fourth year at NYU. They received full scholarships with stipends included.

After the boys went off to college Casey and Max bought a house together in Rhode Island. Max was in Maxine's room braiding her hair.

"When are Drew and Daniel coming?"

"Thursday." "That's mommy and daddy's anniversary." "Ok, we're done." "You look beautiful."

"Thank you daddy." She turned around and kissed him on the cheek.

"You're welcome."

"We're home." They heard Casey say from downstairs.

"Want a piggy back ride?" Max asked Maxine.

"Yeah." She said.

They went downstairs.

"Hey baby." Max said to Casey.

"Hey." They kissed.

"How did Mason do?"

"Great, no cavities."

"That's great." He looked at Mason. "We'll go out for ice cream later to celebrate."

Two days later it was Casey and Max's anniversary. Drew Jr. and Daniel just walked through the door. Maxine and Mason ran up them. The boys knelt down and they all had a group hug.

"Come play with us." Maxine said.

"We want to talk to mommy and Max." Drew Jr. said.

"Hey guys." Max said. They all hugged each other.

"Where's mom?" Daniel asked.

"Getting ready."

"Happy anniversary."

"Thanks."

Five minutes later Casey came down the stairs wearing Max's favorite dress.

"You look nice mom." Daniel said.

"Thank you." She hugged Drew. "Thank you for watching your sisters tonight."

"You know we're happy to."

Casey and Max were at the restaurant.

"You look gorgeous tonight Casey." Max said.

"Thank you."

"I can't believe it's been four years."

"I know."

"Four of the best years of my life."

"Mine too." "To think I almost let you go." She leaned forward and kissed him. "I love you so much."

"I love you too."

After dinner Casey and Max were at home. The boys went back to school. The girls were in bed. Casey and Max had sex. She came back to bed wearing only Max's shirt.

"I have an anniversary present for you Max." She said. She got back in bed and showed him a pregnancy test.

"Positive?" He said happily. "No wonder you weren't drinking tonight." They kissed. "I'm so happy." They kissed. "I love you."

"I love you too."
