Chapter 32

Casey was eight months pregnant and due in two weeks. There were two weeks left in September. Casey was on maternity leave. Max was on the road.

It was around one in the morning when Casey woke up. She felt her water break. She got up and went to Drew Jr's room.

"Drew." She said. He opened his eyes. "My water just broke." "I'm gonna call an ambulance."

Drew got up quickly. "You don't have to do that mom." "I'll take you." "Grab your hospital bag and get in the car."

"You have school tomorrow." "Ow!"

"I'll get the bag, just get in the car." She went to get in the car. Drew went across the hall to Daniel's room. "Daniel wake up, mom's in labor."

Daniel opened his eyes. "Fuck."

"Are you coming with us to the hospital?"

"Yeah." "I'll drive." He said getting up and quickly dressing.

"I'll call Max." As Drew quickly got dressed he called Max.

"Hello?" Max said tiredly.

"Mom's in labor Max." Drew said. "We're taking her to the hospital right now."

"The bag we packed is in the bedroom closet."

"I know."

"Tell her I love her and I'll be there as soon as I can."

"I will."

Since he was in California, Max knew he wouldn't be there for at least five hours. That was the best case scenario.

Casey had been in labor for six and a half hours. The boys had never left her side.

"It's time to start pushing Casey." The doctor said .

"Max isn't here." She said.

"I know that mom." Drew Jr. said. "Max would want you and the babies healthy."

"Push." The doctor said.

"You can do it." Daniel said.

An hour and four rounds of pushing had passed.

"The first baby is crowning." The doctor said.

"What does that mean?" Daniel asked.

"I can see the head."

Max came running through the door.

"I'm so sorry baby." Max said. "Did I miss it?"

"You're just in time." The doctor said. "Push Casey." She pushed.

"I see the head, it's out." Max said excitedly.

"One more push." Casey pushed. The baby started to cry.

"That's Maxine." Casey said weakly.

"She's beautiful." Max said.

A minute and a half passed. Then the next baby came. Her name was Mason.

A half hour later they were all in a room. Max was holding Mason and Casey was holding Maxine.

"Drew come here." Casey said. He went over to her. "Hold your sister." She handed her to him.

"Look how small." Drew said. She opened her eyes. "You have your daddy's eyes."

Max went over to Daniel and handed her to him.

"Hi Mason." Daniel said. "I'm your big brother." She grabbed his finger with her whole hand. "What a grip." "Are you gonna be a wrestler?"

Casey and Max looked at each other full of happiness.
