It's the day before we have to meet up. I'm just getting back from buying snacks. I stick my keys in my door, but.. My door is unlocked. Weird. I know I locked it, I checked multiple times! Oh well.
I open the door, and flick on the light switch. My eyes widen, and I drop my groceries. No..
"Hello, Taylor~" Penelope greets me, smirking. Her pink hair is up in lollipop buns, on the sides of her head. Her dark skin has just gotten even darker. She looks just the same, but.. Older.. She's wearing pink and green. She has in white colored contacts.I'm frozen. My mind is racing. No.. Penelope can't be back! I can't move. I stiffen even more when she starts moving towards me. "Now.. Why are you not greeting your best friend? I thought you trusted me!!" She laughs. Her laugh is cold, like her h-
BAM!
I awaken in a dark room, tied to a chair. My brain is fuzzy. What the hell happened..? Oh yeah, that's right. Penelope.. Ugh. What did she hit me with? I don't know.. A.. Pan..? No.. It would've made a difference sound..
I think back, rattling my mushy brain.
I gasp. "A METAL PIPE!!" I yell, jerking up.
Lights turn on, blinding me, and making my headache worse. I squint my eyes, looking around. I see Penelope again. She's standing by a light switch. I raise my head up, and she walks to me. I scowl at her. She tips my head up by my chin. Penelope's always been flirty. She doesn't know it, she's just like that. When I found out about my new job, I told her. The second I told her, she took it to her advantage. I.. I thought I could trust her...
She took every bit of coding information I told her, and left with it. I never trusted anyone again. ..Until Ethan and Daniel. Sometimes, I'm scared they'll do the same, but, sometimes, I know they won't.Penelope looks at me from all sides. I'm too tired for this.
"Taylor Smith.. Wow. You've changed! Your hair is dyed, you've gotten much thinner.." She lets me go. "Good. You were ugly." She says, walking away and sneering. I growl at her. "You're supposed to be all the way back in California!! What are you doing in Colorado?!" I bark. She laughs. "I wanted to see my bestest friend again!!" She pipes. I roll my eyes. "Bestest isn't a word." I say. Penelope crosses her arms, and huffs. "Neither is isn't."
"Isn't is an abbreviation from 'Is' and 'Not', so although it's technically not a word, it is the usual spoken of 'Is not.'" I explain. Penelope is staring at me, silent, before laughing. "Damn! You really haven't changed on the inside, have you?" She asks. My face darkens. "I've changed more than you think." I mumble. "And it's because of you!" I add. She mimicks fake surprise. "Me???" She asks, sarcastically. I scowl. "Yes you! You- You-" I can't get the words out. Penelope gives me a sly smile. "Cat got your tongue?~" She asks, putting cat ears on. My stomach bubbles. "I'm disgusted with you.." I utter. She just smiles more. "You weren't disgusted with me when you told me about your new job with the CSI?"
That gives me a question to ask. "How did you find me?"
"Easy! I just used the hacking skills you taught me!" She says. My eyes widen. I ask another question. "What do you want with me?!"
"Oh, well, that's easy!"
"Then tell me!"
"Chill, chill." She says, walking back up to me. "All I want is.." She trails. She gets right up in front of me, and couches down so we're face to face. "An apology."
