Chapter 70: Diner disaster, captured by crazy kids

The heroes all walk on the side of the road, looking around in the Texas state. It's a beautiful sight all around. Texas is really an opened state in the south. Hardly any buildings. As they walk, they see a diner ahead. They all feel hungry, and walk to it. They all go inside, and sit down. A waitress walks up to them, and ask them for their orders. They give her the orders, and she writes them down. She leaves to give the cook their orders. Later, they're eating their food and drinking their drinks. They all laugh as they talk. 

Odd: I'm serious. My cousin lived in Texas for a few years, and every time he comes to see us, he always says, "Yee Haw." 

The heroes laugh more and shake their heads. '50s rock and roll music plays on a jukebox. The heroes are having a good time. As they do, four young people come into the diner. They sit separately. Sora looks at the young boy behind him, who looks at him. Sora gives him a friendly smile, and waves at him. The young man smiles and waves back. 

Sora: Hi, I'm Sora. What's yours?

Young man: Jackson. This is Elizabeth. 

Then, they hear the other two laughing at their table. 

Jackson: That's Ike and his girlfriend, Clarice. 

The heroes see them messing around while laughing. They shake their heads at this, seeing that they're making too much noise. Blake and Weiss cover their ears from this. Why can't some people just eat and wait to mess around? Sora frowns as he sees them whispering about something. He watches them as he knows that they might be up to no good. He then looks at Jackson, and Elizabeth. He sees that Jackson is watching Clarice and Ike, and Elizabeth looks really scared for some reason. Then, they both look at each other. 

Jackson: I wish this was just normal. I wish we were just two people...here at a diner, you know. I wish I was somebody else. 

Elizabeth looks at him with a look on her face, seeing that she really wants to help him. Sora, for some reason, can feel some doubts in Jackson's heart. Just then, they hear glass breaking. They all look, and see that Clarice had knocked a glass cup. She looks at everyone.

Clarice: Sorry, y'all. That was my fault. 

Then, her and Ike start chuckling. The heroes shake their heads at this, not wanting to listen to more of this. Sora sees the waitress comes at them with a bill. He then senses something wrong. Then, Ike grabs the waitress as he picks up a knife, and stabs her in the shoulder with it. She screams in agony as blood oozes out of her. Clarice then uses another knife and stabs a guy behind her in his neck. The heroes all watch in shock as they see this. Clarice then takes the dead man's gun. She shoots a guy trying to get out. He falls down on Ruby's lap, and she screams in horror. Yang pushes the dead guy off her. The cook sees this, and comes running out. Clarice sees him, and shoots him in the head. Everyone keeps their heads down in fear. Sora holds Kairi close, and Yang keeps Ruby close to her as she's crying. Clarice then finds a shotgun. 

Clarice: Gosh, I love Texas. 

Ike lets go of the waitress, and catches the shotgun. The waitress is still alive, and is leaning against the counter.

Ike: Everybody go ahead and put your keys and cash on the edge of the table. Clarice, get a bag. Put your cash on the table, man! 

Everyone is really scared of this. Clarice goes to get a bag.

Ike: Clarice? 

Clarice: Coming. 

Ike: (Cocks shotgun) Put your money on the table. 

Clarice: Are you all deaf? Get your freaking money out now! Come on! We ain't got all day!

Ike: Get it on the table! 

The heroes also put their money on the table too, not wanting to be shot. Jackson and Sora then see a guy that's sitting on a chair in the counter gets up, and runs for the door. They both get up and run in front of him to stop him.

Jackson: No, wait! 

The guy punches Jackson in the face, and kicks Sora in the stomach. He groans, and falls down. Jackson didn't even flinch, and punches the guy back in the face. He falls down. Kairi runs to Sora to check on him. Elizabeth sees this, and makes a run for it. Clarice sees this. 

Clarice: Shoot!

She runs after her. Jackson is on the floor, seeing what he just did. He looks at Sora and Kairi. Ike then walks over to the waitress, and aims the shotgun at her head. He fires, and kills her. Blood shoots up in the air. Then, he notices Sora and Kairi, and gets an idea. He aims at them. Kairi gasps as she holds Sora. 

Ike: Both of you, go! You're coming with us! Now! Go!

Sora sees this, and slowly gets up. He holds up his hands, and walks out with Kairi. 

Riku: No!

Riku gets up, but Ike points his gun at him. Riku stops. 

Ike: You try and follow us, we'll kill them both, you got that?

Ike runs out of the diner. Jackson gets up, and walks out. Sora sees Elizabeth being held by a bigger boy. Ike shoves them both in the back of a trunk of a blue ford. Sora then hears gunshots, and the car starts up and drives off. He can hear Jackson, Elizabeth, and the boy getting in. With the other heroes, they couldn't believe what just happened. 

Toji: So, what? We're just gonna sit here? Let's go get 'em.

Winter: (Stops him) Toji, stop! We can't! You heard what he said. They'll kill them! 

Riku: Well, we've got to do something!

Roxas: (Checks on guy with beaten eye) Sir, you okay?

Man: Yeah. We need to call the police. 

The heroes agree to that. That's the only thing to do now. Later, the police and ambulance arrive at the scene. And with them is Sheriff Hartman. He looks around, and finds the bodies. He's looking at the dead waitress. Her face is shot up completely. He puts the sheet back over her. His deputy, Sorells, looks at the empty wallets as Hartman gets up.

Sorells: Yep, it were them. No doubt about it. 

Hartman: (Walks to the heroes and man) What happened?

Riku: Me and my friends, we were just eating. And they came in. We thought they were just normal people. But then, it happened so fast.

Man: They went buck-crap crazy. Cutting up with the waitress. Then they started shooting. 

Jeremy: Yeah. Then, when they were leaving, they took two of our friends with them captive. 

Hartman: You see which way they went? What car they took? 

Man: Maybe they left in a wagon. 

Hartman: What color?

Man: Blue, I reckon. Or gray. A Ford. I saw them toss those two kids in the trunk. I don't know what they're gonna do to them, sheriff. 

Namine: (Looks at Hartman) Please. Please, you have to save our friends. 

Hartman looks at them, and nods. He gets up, and walks aways with Sorells, letting the others deal with this mess. Riku watches them leave, and he gets a feeling about Hartman. He looks at everyone else, and know that they must do something to save Sora and Kairi.
