Chapter 79: Queens neighborhood destruction

Scene for Kingdom Hearts: Disaster Zone: Volcano in New York.

With Sora, Ruby, Kairi, Sango, Michiru, Kohaku, Yang, Weiss, Namine, Roxas, Yuu, Miki, Kai, Momo, Jeremy, and Aelita, they're walking in a neighborhood in Queens with Josh, Kelly, and Lucy. Lucy has her equipment out, as she's reading some readings in the block. As they walk, Ruby notices a man is in his yard, watering his plants with his hose. He sees them as he waters. She smiles, and waves at him. He waves back. But then, the whole area starts shaking. The man stops hosing, and looks around. The heroes look around too. Josh keeps Kelly and Lucy by him. It suddenly stops. The man looks around, and shrugs. He continues gardening his plants. But then, it starts shaking again. Everyone looks around in fear, knowing that tremors are dangerous. The man then walks over to his birdbath, with a rubber duck in it, and sees it's shaking. 

Man: What happened?

Just then, the manhole covers all shoot up from the manholes. Everyone sees this.

Man: What the heck? What? Jeez! Holy smokes! 

Josh: Watch your heads! Watch your heads!

The covers all land on the ground, with everyone watching them where they're gonna land. As they do, they see one coming at the man. He moves out of the way, and it lands on the birdbath, making it fall down. 

Man: Well, what's with that?

Everyone looks at the birdbath on the ground. The man then smells something. He looks at his hose, and sniffs it. He sees it's coming from it. He groans at that. And then, a dog starts barking loudly in a house. 

Man: Shut up, Henry! (Puts down hose, and wipes hands) Shut up, Henry!

They listen to the dog. It's really barking. Ruby frowns at this. 

Ruby: Guys, his dog's really barking. It's like it senses something. 

Sora: Like what?

Josh: Something bad. 

Man: (Walks to the house) Henry, shut up! Henry!

He picks up a rake, and walks to his door as his dog continues barking. The heroes follow him, wanting to see if there's something wrong. As he walks to his door, his dog suddenly makes a painful yelp, and it goes silent. Ruby and Weiss both gasp in shock. That means the dog is dead. The man looks at the door. 

Man: Somebody in there? You come out of there right now!

There's no answer. The man then reaches to open the door. But as he touches the doorknob, it burns his hand. 

Man: Ow! (Drops rake) Dang!

Josh and Kelly look at this, and frown. Why would the doorknob be hot? Unless...

Josh: Oh, no...

The man then uses his shirt sheeve to cover his hand, and then, he reaches to open it.

Josh: No, wait!

But it's too late. He opens the door, and smoke and fire comes out of the door as he looks inside. And then, an orange light shines on him. He gasps, and screams as something comes at him. To everyone's shock, it's lava, coming out of the house. It comes out, and buries the man alive, killing him. It spreads as the house explodes into flames. The heroes all stand back with Josh, Kelly, and Lucy. They all watch in shock as the lava is now destroying the block of houses. They can hear people screaming in the houses as they're being burnt alive inside. They all look around.

Kelly: Oh, my gosh...

Sango: How could this have happened?

Just then, they hear evil laughing coming from inside the burning house. They all look, and see Fire Trooper coming out of the house, smirking. 

Fire Trooper: Guardian Heroes, bow down to the will of Maleficent and Lord Infernal or I shall turn the city into french toast!

Sora: We'll see about that! Josh, you, Kelly, and Lucy go! We'll take care of this!

Josh nods, and he takes the girls out of there. Then, the heroes all charge at the monster. 

Fire Trooper: What's wrong, forget your marshmallows? Stop wasting my time, and prepare to be barbecued! 

He shoots fire out of his mouth, and it hits by the heroes, who all yell and jump out of the way. Sora and Kairi land on their feet, but Fire Trooper shoots more fire at them. They both jump out of the way as the fire hits the ground. Sora glares at him. 

Sora: You're not so hot.

Sora then jumps in the air, and kicks the monster hard. Fire Trooper yells as he goes flying. He lands on the ground hard. 

Roxas: Alright, Sora! Let's blow out this match stick.

Fire Trooper growls as his head is on fire. So are his hands. The heroes all stand together as they look at him.

Michiru: Man, what a hothead. 

Fire Trooper: You really burn me up. You should have told King Mickey to get you fireproof boots, because you're all about to receive a fairly monstrous hotfoot! 

He slams his hands on the ground, making a firewave. The firewave spreads out, and it hits the heroes, making them jump back. It also hits more houses, destroying them. 

Ruby: Oh, no! He's destroying the neighborhood! People are dying!

Jeremy: We've got to cool him down. 

Sora: Right! Let's flank him around!

They all rush to continue fighting him while trying to save the neighborhood. Can they stop this monster before he destroys the entire area? And will they be able to show everyone that there is a volcano under New York City? Only time will tell for them.

I'm sure you'll love it when it comes out soon. Looks like the heroes will be dealing with a lot of volcanoes in this world a lot. You know what I mean? It's gonna be another hot time for them.
