A reassuring hand placed on Elijah's shoulder as he sat on the floor with Athena's head on his lap.

"What happened?" Klaus said "when you blacked out"

Elijah's hands stroked her hair gently before looking up at his brother.

"Do you really want to know what I saw?" He placed a kiss on Athena's forehead before placing her back on the floor and standing up "do you want to know what I saw?!" He raised his voice

Klaus looked away like a small dog being told off.

"She was telling the truth" he shouted "we could trust her but my brother, my paranoid brother told me otherwise"

Klaus glanced down at the body. And then away. They had won, but at what price for Elijah?

"Did you know I actually cared for this woman?" Elijah made Klaus look at him "and you made me kill her"

"We didn't know if she could be trusted or not" Klaus fought his corner

"She showed me her first life; she was happy" he broke down "and then she showed me how she would have died if she had of stayed mortal; and it wasn't too different to how she died now"

Klaus walked closer and put his hands on the top of Elijah's arm. "Come upstairs; maybe you should take a break before disposing of the bodies"

Elijah nodded his head. Never had he felt such a loss over a girl that he had in his life for only a short time. But she made the biggest impression, something unforgettable.

Elijah glanced at her body, lying next to her father's before heading upstairs.

-

"Maybe it's time to go down" Elijah finally plucked up the courage to go and see her, and give her a burial.

He stepped downstairs but something was off. Demetrius' body lay untouched but where was Athena?

He sped down to where he left her body and saw her blood smudged in a path towards the gate, as if she had been dragged.

And then, the path stopped. It changed to something much more spine tingling. Footsteps.

"Niklaus" he shouted in a hurry "Niklaus did you do this?"

"Do what?" He asked, responding to Elijah's calls. He looked down at the prints and back up in surprise "no"

"That can either mean one of two things" Elijah gulped "someone is messing with us or..."

"...something went wrong and she wasn't dead after all" Klaus finished

"And if she's alive; she'll be angry. Especially at the ones who betrayed her" Elijah felt something similar to the way he felt when they first found out about the family. The fear of the unknown, but this time it was worse.

Because now Elijah knew what Athena was capable of, and what her brother should be capable of. However; he didn't know what they intended to do about it and the mere thought of it drove the hairs on his neck to stand up.

"I think we need to widen our army" Klaus spoke in a monotone voice. Elijah had never really seen Klaus scared before but he could see the fear creeping in.

-

Arcadius snook into the compound; something had gone off and he intended to find out.

The lack of Athena's presence over the last few weeks only made him nervous. He knew that his father killed Apollo and he disliked him for it; but he feared Athena had gone too far this time to team up with the originals. That only something bad could come out of this.

Just as he suspected. The bodies of his father and his sister lay side by side on the floor. He could only guess what had happened.

Athena killed Demetrius, the originals killed Athena. It sort of served her right for going against family and trusting those who should never have been trusted; those who didn't deserve to be alive.

But he sensed that they had only just been killed. The golden dagger lay next to Athena and an idea spring into Arcadius' mind.

He remembered when he awoke for the first time, and whe his father introduced their weapons. He remembered his father pulling him behind and readying him for the day that Athena would turn rogue.

'You can use their weakness as a cure' the voice of his now dead father echoed in his mind.

He knelt down and picked up the dagger and plunged it back into the hole it had made in her side.

"Phasmatos omnio ligor coldate sangorium" he chanted quietly, reversing the spell of the dagger. It all depended on time; hopefully he wasn't too late as it had to be performed at most five minutes after the person had died.

Unfortunately he could not save his father. He knew that was too late.

The dagger glowed yellow as it melted in his hands.

And now Arcadius' hands began to glow, possessing the ultimate power that would lead to Athena's undoing.

But due to the spell; he had no longer the power to kill her but make her mortal and take away her magic and absorb it for himself.

But that was his sister. He didn't ever believe he would use that power against her, it wasn't fair.

The spell was complete, he grabbed Athena by the arms and started to drag her out of the compound.

A sharp breath stopped him in his tracks as he turned around to see Athena struggling to stand.

It worked.

"Athena" he whispered, helping her up. He put his index finger to his mouth and motioned her to be silent.

Athena looked like she was choking. Like she couldn't catch her breath. And then she breathed. Her bottom lip quivering and tears threatened in her eyes.

"You saved me" she mouthed "thank you"

She gave Arcadius a hug, as tight as she could. Wondering why she had ever thought about betraying family. Family came first, the bond of family was stronger than the bond she would have shared with Elijah.

"Let's get you home" Arcadius took her arm and provided support when she was walking.

"I want them all dead" she managed to push out

"I know" Arcadius agreed "I do to"

"I am so naive, to think he could actually give a damn about me" she spat venom as she spoke "the joke is on him though"

Athena raised her hand and began to move it around "I received all of father's power which included all of Apollo's power. Those Mikaelson's are going to wish they had ever stayed in New Orleans; they're going to wish they had a white oak stake to end their miserable lives. But they're going to suffer"

Arcadius nodded. Slightly envious of how much power she now possessed. It was a lot.

"They made the mistake of not trusting me, and I'm going to prove it"
