Chapter 26

Athena sat downstairs on the chair with Elijah stuck by her side, his hand resting gently on her thigh with hers on top, intertwining her fingers.

Klaus sat waiting for one of them to talk. They had brought him down here for a reason and he wanted to know. "Is one of you going to talk then?"

Athena looked at Elijah for a bit of support, this news would not stomach well with Klaus, it didn't go well with Elijah at the beginning so how will Klaus take it? Especially when he doesn't like Athena already. "I know you don't like me"

"You're not wrong there love" Klaus scoffed and Elijah shot him a glare

"But I have a plan to kill Arcadius, now that he's stolen my necklace" she breathed "but it includes someone you're not going to like very much"

Klaus raised his eyebrows as to challenge Athena, how bad could the person be?

"It's me" Apollo made himself known as he walked through the door, causing Klaus to stand up and point at Elijah.

"You expect me to bring your Harlet of a girlfriend into our home, and now her brother? Who by the way was dead and probably hates us" he raised his voice

Athena stepped forward to try and reason with Klaus, but forgetting she was completely vulnerable.

Elijah raced up and pulled her out of the way before Klaus could do anything serious, like bite her.

"Niklaus" Elijah shouted, it echoed through the empty compound and made Klaus look at him. "He is going to help"

"I don't know brother" Klaus said "but it looks like sleeping with that witch is making you go all soft"

"You're a dick" Athena piped up from Behind Elijah. Recently she has been seeing a lot of Elijah's back in times of trouble and when she was put at risk. She admired that Elijah would put himself in the way in order to protect her, but she missed having the means to protect herself. She was completely useless.

"Think what you will of me, but if you want to join their family brother, feel free, I can't give you what she can" Klaus acted like a jealous teenager "don't count on me to help you kill that bastard"

"Why?" Elijah interrupted him as Klaus was walking out. He turned around and began to explain.

"Because when he's dead, we have her to kill and now the other brother, and it would be harder than usual, as we can just snap her neck right at this very moment"

"Don't you dare lay a finger on her" Elijah hissed

Klaus didn't say a word after that; for him, that was all he needed to prove Elijah was more inclined to side with the witches more than his own brother. He just simply disappeared.

"That didn't go so well" Athena said, stepping back from the safety of Elijah's body and into the open, motioning for Apollo to come forward.

"What is your plan then?" Elijah asked, looking at the siblings. They obviously held great strength between them, even with Athena the way she is.

"We have this" Athena lifted the vile out of her pocket "it sends a witch like us, to sleep early, for 500 years and then they'll wake again"

"In that time we can find the necklace or find an alternative to kill him" Apollo added.

Complete genius. The plan was genius, the only thing he was concerned about was if the vile is dropped or taken into the wrong hands. But other than that, amazing.

Elijah's lips curled into a smile "that is amazing" he spoke with unbelief hanging from his words.

"I'm not just the muscle, I'm the brains" Athena smiled in triumph at the fact that she had made the plan and she had gotten the things.

It was safe to say, not only Elijah was proud of his girl, but Apollo was proud of his sister. Throughout the years, he had witness her deteriorate, she had become more evil and mean by the day, but now... He had witnessed self growth and he could see his true sister. And for that, he was grateful to Elijah.

"We have everything we need, plus Apollo" Athena said "we can do this soon, we need to put an end to this madness before Arcadius burns the whole city down"

"I have a feeling where he will start" Apollo looked around him "might want to fireproof the compound, our brother has a flare for the theatrics, he likes to use fire a lot" he turned around and made to leave

"Where are you going?" Athena asked like she was his mother

Apollo smiled at the ground and chuckled "I'm going to visit my dead girlfriend" he said, knowing Athena would never stop him

Athena was quiet for a minute, feeling guilty for interrogating him "okay" she smiled "stay safe"

Apollo nodded and walked out of sight.

Athena then began to walk away, there was nothing to do in the compound now, so she might as well find something to spend her time productively.

Elijah grasped onto her wrist and pulled her back.

"Athena" he sighed, as if he was about to tell her something she didn't want to hear. He was sure she didn't want to hear it. "I don't want you with us when we do this"

"What?" She replied "I have to"

"I'm not risking your life, me and Apollo, we're immortal we can survive this" he said "if anything happens to you I don't know what I'd do"

"Nothing will happen to me, Elijah" she smiled at him as he began to twiddle her hair with his fingers "I am not missing this for the world"

And she wasn't going to miss this for the world. Arcadius was going down and it was just a matter of time.
