"No no no" Klaus shook his head as he walked up to the new vampires he had created "what is this table doing here? It should be over there" he pointed to the corner
"Having a move around are we Niklaus?" Elijah approached the rather agitated looking hybrid without any caution
"God how I miss Rebekah, she would have had this place perfect in no time" he growled "I feel after our latest events, we need something different"
Elijah watched as furniture switched placed and slid around the room. "Maybe you should calm down with the new things" Elijah chuckled to himself "knowing our family, we will find a way to another enemy and all of these things would no longer be wanted by you, if this is your usual pattern"
"It's not my fault that I want to get rid of everything that Dahlia has touched, she can still haunt us in death, she may have enchanted any of this furniture" Klaus' eyes darted around the room
"Paranoia comes to mind" the small witch made her way past the working vampires and to the brothers who stood shoulder to shoulder
"And what do we owe the pleasure of your accompany, Danielle" Klaus rolled his eyes.
Danielle was part of the witches. She was in charge of communications and trying to keep their alliance in check.
"You're not going to like what we have to say, but..." She gulped "given the current circumstances, we hope you'll understand"
Elijah raised his eyebrows in curiosity. Usually, Danielle was outgoing, outspoken, always to the point. But now she was rather cryptic, beating around the bush a little.
She sighed. Pushing her blonde, short hair to the side to reveal her pear earrings "we need to terminate our alliance"
"What?!" Klaus shouted out "you risk your lives just to break off from, protection?"
"It's not like that, I'm sure you can understand..." She argued
"Understand what?" Klaus interrupted "that the witches have gotten what they want and now want to go a separate way?"
"Brother" Elijah placed his hand out to stop Klaus lunging forward "what are these, current circumstances you speak of?" Elijah asked
"You don't know?" Her voice filled with fear though her lips curled in to a half smile
"We don't know what?" Elijah asked in return
"For one of the oldest families in the book, you sure don't know your stuff" she scoffed "you might want to look it up"
"And what, specifically, would we be looking up?" Elijah tilted his head
"I can't stay for long, I would give you a lesson but it would take me years to explain everything" Danielle stepped back towards the gates as she spoke "books are best, but look up the Drakov family"
Danielle turned without another word, looking over her shoulders for any incoming danger caused by Klaus before quickly stepping out and away from the Mikaelson's.
Elijah looked at Niklaus worriedly, it didn't take much to fear the witches, but they always took a very strong attitude to it. "You carry on, brother" Elijah demanded "I'll look for this... Family"
-
"You look swamped Elijah" Klaus interrupted his reading time, Elijah was sat among a pile of books he had retrieved from the library "found anything interesting?"
"Actually, I have found a lot on them, I wonder why we haven't come across this before" Elijah began speaking to Klaus and then trailed off into his own thoughts
"Well, spit it out then" he had enough of waiting.
"You're not going to like this" Elijah pursed his lips "they were a family from 2,000 years ago, witches to be exact"
"And why are these witches used for an excuse to break off an alliance?" Klaus peered over at the inside of a book, it had a small drawing of an older looking man with almost black hair, two identical looking boys, in their twenties and a small girl.
Elijah picked the book up and examined the photo "their mother was killed, their father used dark magic on them like mother used it on us, however instead of transitioning into vampires, they sleep for 500 years and wake up for 100; keeping their youth and immortality intact"
Elijah stood up and gave Klaus a better view of the drawing. It wasn't clear whatsoever, If Klaus or Elijah would have passed them on the street, they wouldn't know "Demetrius, Arcadius, Apollo and Athena" Elijah's finger slid across the page putting names to faces "I'm unsure which one is Arcadius and which one is Apollo however"
"So when do these witches wake up?" Klaus asked with a renewed curiosity
"Anytime between today and whenever" Elijah said "I'm not really sure on when"
"Maybe, if Danielle would still be talking to us, we could ask" Klaus suggested
"No need" the smooth voice loudened as the door shut behind them "I have all the information you need"
"How would you know such things Marcellus?" Elijah scoffed quietly to himself
"You don't understand that I lived in New Orleans when they took control" Marcel looked from a now intrigued Elijah and a grinning Klaus "trust me; they do not like vampires, especially once they know they run the city now"
"When are they waking up?" Klaus was sick of his own voice and he needed his question answered
"Tomorrow" Marcel replied quickly "and I wouldn't do anything to cross them if I were you Klaus, they're stronger than any other family I've met, even you"
"Well you don't know me well enough" Klaus chortled, showing off his dimples on each side of his mouth
"I'm serious Klaus; I'm not one to back down but I've been there when they've been confronted" Marcel urged the importance of not getting on their bad side, although being vampires already gave them marks against their names "watch out for the girl, she's the worst"
"Athena" Elijah confirmed, she was the only girl in the family
"Yes" He nodded "she's sneaky, sly, bitchy, manipulative and most of the time she is the one to punish, to lead the charge"
"So you two are friends?" Klaus joked, raising his eyebrows
"I wouldn't say that" Marcel shook his head and looked at the floor laughing "I was leading a group of vampires into the city, before we even set foot outside; she appeared out of nowhere, poor suckers didn't have a chance"
"What did she do?" Elijah asked intensely, trying to imagine the scenario
"Well, bearing in mind I had around 30 vampires, she took half of them down with just a stare, the rest fell down when she blew into the palm of her hand" Marcel looked into the distance as if he were re living it "I was hidden, under the staircase, but I didn't think it helped, she looked me in the eye and left"
"Why would she leave without killing you?" Elijah asked, he shut the book and placed it neatly on his pile
"I don't know, maybe it was to serve as a warning to stop making new vampires? I rarely came across her from then on" Marcel replied "the witches were pretty shaken up, nobody likes them but apparently they're such a perfect family, so in sync that they don't need any alliances, they can kill millions with a snap of their fingers"
"Who's up for a party tomorrow then?" Klaus raised his arms and smiled knowingly
"Why on earth do we want a party at this time?" Elijah shook his head
"Well; it would be a chance for us to feed, and if blood is split, I'm sure the family who hate vampires and are waking up tomorrow will follow shortly behind" he explained
Elijah stood in awe of his brothers brilliance. If not all the family members, maybe only one. But that's enough to look and see what they're up against.
