The next morning my eyes opened on the ringing sound of my alarm. I turned it off before his sleep would disturbed.

I saw his face next to me resting on my pillow. His arm was still lying von my waist. We were lying close to each other.

I could see every detail of his facial features. He was a handsome man but a cold one by heart. In his sleep, he looked calm and composed. His forehead was devoid of the usual lines.

I caressed his cheeks with the back of my hand. His skin was soft and he had stubble beard on his face which suited him. I could never tell him that because we don't share such close relationship.

Why are you so distant to me?

I was saddened by the thought that he wouldn't be at home for the rest of the day and I would be alone, waiting for him my whole day and when he will be back at night.

Then he would ignore me like I don't exist.

"What happened?" He opened his eyes slowly and asked in his heavy morning voice.

"Nothing" I mumbled.

"Let me sleep" He removed my hand from his face and turned to the other side.

My eyes were staring at his back.

He was just lying next to me but he was at the distance of centuries from me. He was so distant that I couldn't even touch him when I wanted.

I closed my eyes painfully.

My life wasn't normal. It was never and all my hopes of a better future was crushed the day I married this man.

I got up from the bed to get done with my morning routine. After that I prepared breakfast for both of us. I walked back into the bedroom where he was still sleeping.

"Ehan!" I called his name.

"Ehan! Get up or you will be late" I said to him.

"What's the time?" He mumbled and opened his eyes, looked at me.

I told him the time and he got out of the bed unwantedly. I was waiting for him at the breakfast table. He came out of the bedroom dressed in his formal clothes that I had already set in the dressing room in the night.

He sat next to me on the table. His eyes fell at the breakfast today and he looked at me unhappily.

"I don't want to eat oatmeal. Make me toast and bread" He ordered grumpily.

"There is no bread" I told him.

"You could have told me yesterday" He seemed pissed off now.

"You were late" I said.

"You could have message me" He emphasized.

"You didn't see my messages" I replied calmly.

He stared at me for a second then averted his eyes.

"I will have my breakfast at office" He rose up from his chair and gathered his stuff to leave the house.

"Have a nice day!" I said from back when he was leaving.

"Goodbye!" He muttered before leaving.

"Goodbye!" I closed the door behind him and turned around to see the empty apartment.

All the signs of life vanished the moment he left the apartment. For me, he was the only source of liveliness in this not so empty space.

I was saddened by thinking that for the rest of the day, I will be alone there.

Only my loneliness would accompany me the whole day which was stuck to me for the last two years.

Have you ever seen a lonely person?

Their eyes tell the tales of their inner turmoil. I thought did my eyes reveal my inner turmoil to the other people. Can they see pain in my eyes.

Perhaps not.
