I stood still at my place, shocked and angry. My fists clenched, a sign of my mounting frustration.

"If it happens again, I will fire you Mr. Ehan!" My boss warned me in front of everyone in the conference room.

I didn't commit a mistake to be facing such humiliation from him. I couldn't believe it was happening to me.

Everyone's attention was fixed at my face. I couldn't even smash his face because he was the boss and I was his employee.

That's why I always wished to have my own business. I believe one day I would have a business of my own but I won't behave like a jerk to my employee.

I released a sigh to control myself. I didn't ask for sorry. It wasn't needed. I knew he couldn't fire me. I was one of the leading professionals in his firm and he liked my work.

"We will continue the meeting tomorrow" The jerk left after announcing.

I stared at his back and setting down on the chair.

"I am sure he fought with his wife today. It was just his frustration Ehan! Your work was superb as always" My colleague Rehan, tried to cheer me up.

"I know" I just nodded at him and walked out of the conference room.

I walked straight to the bathroom, and washed my face to calm my itching eyes. I slammed my fist on the counter to realize my anger.

Instead of going back to my cabin I went to stand closer to the transparent glass which showed the view to the outside world.

I needed to calm myself before continuing my work again. I just can't work like that. I pressed my forehead and tried to get the humiliation out of my mind.

My cell phone started ringing in my pocket. I didn't want to entertain anyone at the moment but still took out my cellphone out to see who was calling.

My finger instantly tapped on the screen when I read the caller's name.

"Aslamo alaikum!" I heard her sweet voice from the other side and it calmed me a bit. I don't know why but her words envelope my heart every time she speaks.

"Walekum salam!" I replied.

"Ap busy to nahi hain" She asked before continuing.

(Are you busy?)

"No" I kept looking outside.

"What are you doing at the moment?"

"Nothing. I am free"

"Aj ap ny call nahi ki to maine socha khud kar loon" She sounded nervous.

(You didn't call me today so I decided to call you myself)

"Han. I was very busy"

"Aj khane main kiya banaoon?" She asked further.

(What should I make for dinner today?)

"Cook anything you want Mehr!" I wasn't in the mood to have dinner anyways.

"Ap pareshan hain?" She sounded worried. I wished she was in front of me and I could look at her beautiful face.

(Are you tensed?)

"Tumhain kese pata chal jata hy har bar?" I asked genuinely. Every time she guessed right about me facing any difficulties in my professional life.
