Anger left my body as I sat on the floor and frustration ran through my body. Around me glass pieces from the glass were scattered. One of the pieces pierced into my skin.
I didn't feel the pain, I wasn't in the right mind. I only noticed the wound when I saw blood on my hand. It was superficial cut but bleeding just as my heart immensely.
I didn't understand what just happened to me. I was shocked. My mind was unable to process the events a few minutes ago.
I was numb.
How could she leave me? So suddenly. What went wrong...
She left at noon and it was getting dark outside. I was worried for her well being. She never travelled alone. I don't know where she was. What was she doing?
I had tried to contact her multiple times but her cell phone was switched off. Her anger was baffling me. I never knew she had the capability to react like that.
I finally decided to call her father.
"Uncle! Is Mehrbano there at your place?" I directly asked after greeting him. There was no point beating around the bush. I needed to know she was safe.
"Yes, she reached half an hour ago" Talha uncle told me about her whereabouts.
I sighed in relief. I felt as if some heaviness was taken away from my chest. My chest felt lighter. She was safe and sound, that's all that mattered at the moment.
"Okay"
"What happened between you two?" Talha uncle asked me directly as we both knew Mehr never went to her father's place for staying ever before.
"We had an argument" I muttered.
"You asked her to leave?" He questioned me seriously.
"No. No. I didn't ask her to leave" I replied quickly.
How could I ever ask her to leave our home. It can never happen. I could never do this to her.
"She left your house willingly?" He asked further and he clearly sounded displeased with everything.
"Yes" I mumbled.
"It would have been better if your issues stayed at your home only" He said and hung up the call.
I knew about his next move, he would call my father and discuss the matter with him.
I called Mehr once again but her cell phone was switched off. I was getting anxious. She kept her phone off. That means I couldn't contact her.
Please for God sakes Mehr! We need to talk.
I left a message for her and beside that I needed to send another message to someone else.

The walls of the house sounded familiar. I had been there many times before and after my marriage but I never came to know about the disturbed family dynamics.
I was realizing it today when Talha uncle asked me to go to the annex to meet Mehr instead of the main house. What was she doing there alone?
"Why is she there?" I couldn't stop myself from asking him when he showed me the way to annex.
"It's the place where she always stayed with her mother" He told me plainly.
