Aemond Targaryen lived to become a weak old man, withering in the cells underneath Dragonstone. One mistake caused a lifetime of pain.
Losing Baelon, was the start to the end of the Hightowers. But it wouldn't be the end of them.

Vermithor landed on Kingdlanding with a residing thud, a garrison of men greeted him. At the head, stood Lord Otto Hightower with his daughter the Queen.
Baelon lowered himself on his dragon's wing before turning to his betrothal. Baelon holds out his hand, a smile on his lips. "My love." Baelon states softly. Arianne carefully takes his hand with a grin of her own, still shielded by her cloak. With a sudden gush of wind, her cloak is removed, revealing her caramel tresses.
Alicent watches them approach, a small smile on her lips. Despite her previous feelings, the boy grew on her, he reminded her of Rhaenyra. Shockingly, the notion was welcomed.
The two approach the royal court that waited. Baelon parts from Arianne and he bows. "My Queen." Baelon offers
Arianne was hesitant but she soon followed the notion, tipping her head. "My Queen." She breathes
Alicent nods her head, watching as they raise to meet her gaze. "I welcome you both. You, Baelon, it's been much too long. I am glad to see you alive, I hear of your many honors down at the Stepstones." Alicent states
Baelon grins easily, "All in the King's name, it is an honor to fight for my house. Once I marry my betrothal and we've completed our tour, I plan on returning. I will not rest until we win the gullet." Baelon states
Otto eyes the boy, offering him a nod when his gaze moves to him. "A wise choice." Otto states in mild respect. Baelon nods. "Is there a date set?" Alicent asks, her eyes trailing towards the woman. Arianne watches her carefully.
"We do not want a big affair, my Queen, while we understand that Prince Baelon is the future heir to the future Queen, we would not want to cast a large shadow over the struggles of the people. I believe that any money intended to be used on the party, it should instead go towards them. That is my future husband's gift to me." Arianne states
Alicent hums. "You're Dornish, what do you know of the people's struggles?" Otto asks
Arianne's blue eyes snap over to him, slightly narrowing. To curve the growing tension, Baelon steps forward with a forced grin, which looks more like a grimace. "My betrothal has a large heart, even if a kingdom is thriving, she believes in humility, even within monarchs. And while I do enjoy this marriage talk, my betrothal and I had a long flight. I wish to retire for the night, we may speak more on this in the morrow." Baelon states, slightly pleading with the Queen.
Alicent nods, "Yes I do believe we should allow them some rest before we throw them into planning. The guards will escort you both to your chambers, please rest." Alicent says gently.
Arianne bit her lip but she nodded her head.
....
"We can not allow this! It's a sin!" Otto roars as he paces back and forth. Alicent silently watched him while picking at the base of her nails. Anxiety was written all over her face. "I must put an end to this union. You must convince Viserys to deny their betrothal." Otto orders
Alicent sighed as she walked towards the little councils table, her hands coming down to rest on one of the chairs. "I cannot father. While I agree, that it is unforgivable, Rhaenyra has the say. Viserys will never listen to me on this." Alicent says
Otto whirls around, facing her. His eyes were wide with anger. "He is the King! What good is your marriage if you can not convince him to forbid this blasted marriage!" Otto shouts
Alicent flinches under his voice, her fingers digging into the wood of the chair. "I will try but I can not promise an outcome that may favor us." Alicent says as she looks up to meet his furious gaze.

Aemond sat alone in his chambers, watching as Helaena escorted her children back to her chamber. The news of Baelon's return had been received just moments ago and he was ready. He needed to see him.
Once the doors shut, he stands and exits his room through a hidden passage.
....
Baelon set his armor down on his desk, his eyes reading a letter when a hidden passage door opened. Baelon's eyes snap up and meet Aemond's. "Aemond." Baelon breathes, confused.
"Baelon." Aemond whispers
Before Baelon could say anything else, Aemond approached in large strides, grabbing his arms and bringing him into a kiss. Baelon gasps, eyes widening.
It took only a few more moments before Baelon returned the kiss, leaning into him. Their lips moved together, slotting together in a wet slide. Lips and tongue moving together. The air was narrowing between them but neither wanted to come up for air. Longing and desire fueled their movements, guiding them toward the perfectly made bed.
"Aemond." Baelon whispers
Aemond shakes his head, searching for his lips again. "Not yet." Aemond whispers
Baelon presses forward again, tugging Aemond's cowl off, letting it drop to their feet. Baelon's fingers then drag down his chest, leaving his mark, causing a deep groan to emit from Aemonds throat.
Aemond grabs roughly at the back of Baelon's thighs and lifts him. Baelon knew he should've fought him, but the pleasured fog didn't allow for much thought.
Suddenly Baelon is thrown onto the bed, causing him to gasp loudly as he bounces roughly onto his back, his wide eyes staring up at the hungry prince. "I intended fully to wait, but I've waited for you....for twenty agonizing years...just for this exact moment." Aemond whispers
Baelon is left confused, twenty years? "Aemond....I-I don't understand, I've always been here." Baelon whispers
He's spent years seeking Aemond's attention, only to be denied at every turn, but now that he left for war.....when he finally moved on....he's sought after?
"I know, I know." Aemond whispers, allowing his lips to brush against his. "I know I was a fool, denying what was very well in front of me, but you must understand....it was for your good. I didn't want to trap you when you were just experiencing what life has to offer. I still won't but I will have pieces of you, even if you are married and a father...I want to be your's, even then." Aemond promises
Baelons eyebrows come together, "What about you? I can't have you living for my scraps, it is cruel." Baelon breathes
Aemond shakes his head, kissing the tip of his nose. "There is no life for me, not when I am made the way I am. I am obsessed and toxic and I am yours only. I can not have it any other way." Aemond whispers, his kisses moving and lowering to his neck, his teeth grazing at his pulse.
Baelon gasps, his neck arching. "I will not have it any other way than." Baelon whispers out, only for it to be bitten off in a moan. Aemond sucks his mark into Baelon's skin. "You will marry Arianne and you will consummate that marriage and only then will I fuck you how you deserve to be fucked." Aemond whispers into his ear.
Baelon pants harshly, trying to duck his face so he can capture his lips into a kiss but Aemond denies him with an evil smirk, sitting up.
"Make haste my love." Aemond breathes, his chest still bare as he removes himself from the bed and out the hidden door, leaving Baelon a horny mess.
Baelon covers his mouth with his fist, biting into the meat as his free hand digs into his trousers. Baelon's back arches as he grasps himself, his eyes rolling back.

Yaowza.....K That lowkey got out of hand.
Jeezus I love obsessed Aemond. I didn't intend for Aemond to jump his bones but that's where the writing gods took me. I think this book might end a little shorter than intended, idk yet, writing is unpredictable.
Now you all might be wondering, where is Cahir, Idk, I forgot him, again.
