The sept was filled with lords and ladies ready to see a Royal wedding between their Prince and his lady, whether she was a bastard or not, everyone was excited for the festivities.

And despite her pleas for something simple and elegant, the hall was filled to the brim with viewers, anxious to grasp a taste of Royalty.

Baelon is escorted to the front by his two knights, Cahir and Reckon. Both were dressed in matching Targaryen armor with their Prince following in reds and blacks. Following after them is a garrison of knights, keeping the bold folk off the Prince.

As Baelon passes his family, his eyes meet Aemonds. Time seemed to have stopped, even for just a moment as their eyes filled the room with whispers and unspoken promises. Aemond offers him an encouraging nod, even as his heart tears into pieces from within his chest, wishing it was him.

Baelon's eyes rise to the seven-pointed star, feeling sick. As he settles in his spot, the violinist begins their ballad. The small folk silenced as their future princess entered the sept, covered in silks that flowed over her body. The gold and red are a beautiful complement to Baelon's red and black. A perfect match.

Rhaenyra removes her gaze from the future princess and she looks towards her son, her heart breaking in her chest. She was happy for him but in her eyes, he was still her little boy. The little boy who hid within her skirts when the maester scolded him for tearing an ancient scroll. The same boy who carried his younger brother on his back when he hurt his leg.

Baelon seemed so small standing there, waiting as his future approached.

Rhaenyra's hand lowers to her stomach, pride blooming, extinguishing the fear.

....

"My lords, my ladies, we stand here in the sight of gods and men to witness the union of man and wife. One flesh, one heart, one soul, now and forever."

Baelon's eyes move from the Septon to Arianne, his hand raising so the Septon can link them with a ceremonial ribbon. Arianne offers him a gentle smile, her gaze moving back to the Septon, nodding for him to proceed.

"Let it be known that Prince Baelon Targaryen of House Targaryen and...Lady Arianne Sand of House Martell are one heart, one flesh, one soul. Cursed be he who would seek to tear them asunder." The Septon states, his brief pause didn't go unnoticed but was forced to be ignored.

Baelon's eyes narrowed but he said nothing.

"In the sight of the Seven, I hereby seal these two souls, binding them as one for eternity."

The ribbon falls as the Septon releases them, his head bowing. Baelon and Arianne mimic him, standing before facing one another.

"Look upon each other and say the words."
