Three Years later
There was a squeal of laughter as a small infant is grabbed from the ground and playfully thrown into the air. Baelon grins as he catches his oldest son, turning to Helaena who watched them fondly. "He's getting big. I fear I won't be able to hold him for much longer." Baelon teases
Helaena laughs, shaking her head as she continues to embroider.
Astoria approaches her husband, looking down at Maegor as he continues to giggle in his father's arms. "That's a sign that you need to train more. You've been lacking." Astoria teases, easily plucking Maegor from Baelon's arms.
Baelon playfully rolls his eyes, meeting Aemonds amused gaze. The fair prince held Alys in his arms. And the little princess held a stuff toy gifted by her uncles.
"I am being insulted and yet you all laugh. Mutiny, the lot of you." Baelon bemoans, lowering himself so he could sit beside his name twin. His youngest son looked up at him and grinned a toothy smile, crawling forward and into his lap.
Baelon the elder laughed and pulled him into his arms.
"You make it too easy." Helaena states, keeping her gaze focused on her embroidery. Her comment causes the others to laugh and Baelon to sigh, grinning to himself.
....
Cahir and Baelon made their way through the castle. The lords and ladies watched as he marched through and towards the throne room where his mother had summoned him.
....
Queen Rhaenyra sat on the Iron Throne with Daemon and Alicent at the end of the steps. The rest of the small folk were leaving the room, having made their petitions to the Queen.
Baelon pauses with Cahir a few feet behind him. The two bow before rising, meeting her warm gaze.
"Your grace, you summoned me?" Baelon asks
Rhaenyra smiles, raising from her seat and approaching her son, holding her skirts as she rushes over to him. Alicent purses her lips, the habit of telling the Queen not to run was itching to burst, but she kept silent, watching the excited mother greet her son. Her eyes softening with fondness.
"My darling boy, it's been three moons since you've been in Kingslanding. Why is it that I have to summon you in order for you to greet me!" Rhaenyra exclaims, gathering him in her arms.
Baelon laughs, hugging his mother in return. "Apologies mother, it wasn't my intention but I heard you were busy with the small folk. I didn't want to get in front of your duties." Baelon states, pulling back so he can meet her gaze.
Rhaenyra sighs, shaking her head fondly. "You matter more, my love. Tell me, how is life in Dragonstone treating you. I know it's a change from Kingslanding." Rhaenyra says
Baelon chuckles, allowing her to guide him to the gardens. Their guards following after.
....
Alicent approaches her second son, her skirts in hand. Aemond looks up at the sound of her footsteps, holding Maegor in his arms as his sister recounts an old story. The princess halts when she spots her mother approaching.
"Aemond! Helaena! You're home!" Alicent exclaims with a bright smile. Aemond softens and approaches his mother, still holding his nephew in his arms. "Mother." Aemond says softly
....
Baelon falls onto the bed with suffering sigh, looking over at Aemond who was already at his side. "As much as I love our family, they are absolutely tiring." Baelon states
Aemond chuckles, titling his head so he's facing his lover. "But it's worth it. I admit, I miss Kingslanding and all its tenacity." Aemond states
Baelon hums in agreement, grabbing Aemond's hand and bringing it to his lips. "What I don't miss is wrangling the little ones and taking them from one point to another. The tears!" Baelon groans
Aemond laughs, softly shaking his head. "That's where we differentiate. Helaena finds it especially funny when the vein on your head pops." Aemond teases
Baelon gasps in betrayal, he moves to straddle Aemond, leaning over him. "You are despicable. How long have I had this vein?!" Baelon asks, searching his forehead.
Aemond stares up at him fondly. "Marry me."
Baelon inhales a sharp breath, eyes widening, his hands dropping on Aemonds chest. "What." Baelon whispers, unsure that he heard correct.
Aemond toys with Baelons belt, still peering up at him. "Marry me." He repeats
Baelon shakes his head, still confused. "We cannot? We're men." Baelon whispers, his heart pounding in his chest. Aemond hums, tugging Baelon closer. "I don't care, marry me the Valyrian way. We don't need a priest nor do we need a blessing. I'll know it's right and true, because I love you." Aemond says
Baelon lets out a surprised laugh before nodding. "Yes. Yes, I'll marry you." Baelon whispers, and before Aemond can say anything else. Baelon leans down and kisses him.
Aemond hums in pleasure, his hand coming up and cupping Baelons cheek. Their kiss soon turned from sweet and lovesick to hot and heady. Their tongues moved in a sensual dance, fighting for dominance, licking into each other's mouths.
Baelons hands move quick as he undresses Aemond, roughly removing his shirt and trousers, his hands grabbing his toned flesh, moaning into Aemond mouth.
Aemond sighs in pleasure, allowing Baelon his way. "I love you." Aemond whispers against Baelon mouth, his eye opening to stare into Baelon eyes.
Baelon pulls away, just enough to properly look upon Aemond. "As I you." Baelon whispers
"Say it properly you fool."
Baelon chuckles, softly shaking his head as he leans forward, his face inches from Aemonds. Staring into his eye. "I love you....I love you, I love you, I love you, I love you. I'll say it a thousand times and it continues to stay true. I love you, Aemond Targaryen."
The End.
