7 months later.
"Meet your children, Baelon III and Alys." Arianne states as her husband lowers himself to her side. Baelon stares in awe as his beautiful children greet him. He just came back from the Stepstones, with victory on his back. Only to hear the news of his wife falling into labors. He had rushed as soon as he heard, but it was too late.
"I missed it." Baelon whispers, sadden but a little relieved.
Arianne smiles softly. "Count yourself lucky, it wasn't a pretty sight." Arianne says
Baelon softly shakes his head. "It wouldn't have mattered. I wanted to be there.....I thought you had another month at least." Baelon says, his fingers coming up to graze the soft cheek of his daughter. Those beautiful eyes carried so much intelligence even as a newborn.
"I thought so as well, but it seems the children were too excited to wait." Arianne says
Baelon chuckles. "May I hold one?" Baelon asks gently. Arianne chuckles. "They are your children as well my love." Arianne says, allowing him to take Alys into his arms. "I know but you look so happy with them in your arms." Baelon whispers, his eyes softening significantly. "They're gorgeous Arianne." Baelon whispers
It hurt him to think of how much he missed with Maegor, how he wasn't able to be there for Helaena. But he knew that with him returning, he will have more time to be a better father. To all his children.
"Of course they are, look at their parents." Arianne teases, gaining a chuckle. "You are correct, as always." Baelon jokes with her.
The two parents remain silent as they watched their children sleep, both in awe of what they created.
....
Rhaenyra watched her husband pace back and forth with an amused grin on her lips. "How is it that you are more anxious than I?" Rhaenyra asks
Daemon sighs before approaching his wife. He presses himself to her side before peering down at his daughter Visenya. "I'm just anxious to meet my first grandchild, can you blame me?" Daemon asks, looking back at his wife.
Rhaenyra fondly shakes her head. "I love how much you adore children, makes me love you all over again." Rhaenyra states
Daemon smiles, leaning forward and softly kissing his wife, careful of their child.
....
Aemond sat in his study with Maegor in lap, listening to Helaena read a story. But while he attempted to listen his mind was on Baelon, as it always is.
Helaena looks up from young Baelor, chuckling to herself. "You are quite obvious brother. Give it time, he might not even part from her side at least not until the morrow. Aegon was the same." Helaena says
Despite Aegons faults, he adored his children.
Aemond hums, looking down at Maegor. The now white haired child grinning up at him. "I know." Aemond states
Helaena shakes her head. "How is it that you already miss him? You were with him for 6 months down at the Stepstones." Helaena states
Aemond smiles to himself. "Too short of time." Aemond states
....
Hours later.
Aemond sat at his desk, attempting to focus on his studies while also splitting his attention to the doors, waiting for Baelon. With the months sharing everything with the other prince, he found himself unable to sleep without him at his side. His knee bounced with restlessness before he forced it still.
With a suffering sigh he flicks the quill onto the table before standing. It's getting late, he doubts that he'll see him tonight. Suddenly the doors open, revealing his lover.
Aemond keeps his expression neutral. "My love, I assumed you would be with the children?" Aemond says, his tone hiding his pleasure. Baelon smiles, approaching the prince. "As much as I would to watch them sleep, I could not leave you to sleep on your own. I hate the thought." Baelon teases, pressing Aemond close.
Aemond hums, trying to not look pleased. "If you truly hate it so. I would not deprive you of it." Aemond whispers, their lips meeting. Baelon chuckles against him before melting in his touch.
Both of them slowly walk towards their bed, with Baelon leading him down. Aemond's long dexterous fingers begin working on the outer-workings of Baelon's clothing, dragging his coat down his arms. His hands then drag up his bare arms, tightening around the muscle before snaking them around his neck.
Baelon moans softly as Aemond tongue massaged his. But with a reluctant sigh he pulls away, leaning his forehead against Aemond, smiling softly at him.
Aemond sighs, peering up at him. "You're going to ask again aren't you?" Aemond asks
Baelon hums, Aemond knew him to well. "Are you sure you want to hide in the shadows? I'm a father now, or a public father (I know you know) But that's beside the point. We're no longer on the Step-stones, we have obligations. I don't want to deprive you of a happy ending, with a wife and child." Baelon says
Aemond shakes his head. "I just want you Baelon. I want to be by your side as you raise your children, I want to be by your side as you become king after your mother. But none of that matters, because I just want you. I don't need anything else." Aemond says
Baelon grins. "Good, I don't know if I would be able to let you go a second time."
Aemond tilts his head, returning the look. "You won't have to."
