5 : Experiment

Hecate and Yasmina walk up to the laboratory door. Roxie had already said her goodbyes and was heading back to the camp. Hecate knocks loudly before staring into a camera on the upper wall of the lab.

"Dr. Wu?" She exclaims. A few minutes later they hear a few beeps and the doors slide open.

"Miss Hecate! Welcome!" He says excitedly, "and Miss Fadoula. It's a pleasure to formally meet you" he shakes Yaz's hand.

"Alright, so, what's the first dino?" Hecate asks.

"A female compsognathus. I thought we would start with something easy." Dr. Wu explains. Hecate nods and follows him. The girls walk through a long hall and into a very large cage. In a different cage, near the corner, is the compy.

"So, how're we doin' this?"

"If you are comfortable with it, miss hecate, I want you to stay in here with the asset while miss Fadoula and I watch from afar."

Hecate nods, "Sounds good to me."

"Are you sure, 'Cate?" Yaz asks

She nods in response, "I'll be fine. Dinos like me for some reason." She says before sitting down in the dirt.

Yasmina sighs but nods before stepping back and standing near Dr. Wu, outside the cage. Wu closes the cage door and secures it, motioning to another employee. The worker walks to a different side of the cage and lifts a lever . The compy runs out, hastily looking around. She stops when she lays eyes on Hecate before sniffing the air a few times.

The compy stalks forward, slowly pausing near Hecate's face. She sniffs at the girl before quickly pouncing on her, rubbing her head into hecates face and neck.

Hecate laughs and begins petting the small dino. A small smile emerges onto Dr. Wu's face as he watches. He walks forward and unlocks locks the cage, walking inside.

"If you could, miss Hecate, would you try getting the compsognathus into the cage from earlier?" He asks

Hecate stands, making the compy move and chirp a bit, she walks over to the cage and the compy follows quickly. The boxer taps the inside of the small cage a couple times before the dinosaur jumps inside.

"Good dino" Hecate says and scratches the top of the compy's head. She watches as the other employee moves the lever once more and the gate closes.

"Very good, miss," Dr. Wu says.

She nods, "Who's next?"

"An Ammosaurus. A herbivore. Do not be alarmed as it is a bit larger than you, miss Hecate."

The girl nods once more and two workers lead the dinosaur inside. They remove its restraints before leaving quickly.

"Hi" Hecate says slowly, she takes a step forward and sets a hand on the dinos head. It only takes a couple minutes before it starts leaning into her. It stands on its back legs and puts it's others onto Hecate's head, trying to hug her. She laughs loudly and wraps her arms around the prehistoric animal, "You're an interesting looking dino, aren't you?"

She turns her head to see Dr. Wu motioning for her to escort the dinosaur outside. Hecate nods and begins walking out after the door is opened. The ammosaurus follows closely behind but grunts whenever Hecate walks back inside and it's restraints are put on. She watches with a slight frown as the dinosaur starts to struggle.

Hecate swings around after the dino is out of sight, "Anymore dinos?"

Dr. Wu nods, "One more, this specific asset can be aggressive and dangerous so i stress that you do not need to continue this experiment if you do not personally want to, miss Hecate"
