13 : Lost And Found

TRACKSTAR

Yasmina gasps, "is that.."

"I'm seeing it, too. That is most def a bonfire." Brooklynn says

"People. People! Someone got our SOS signal. Let's go find them." Darius says.

"It's time to go home!". The kids run down and start heading towards the bonfire. A few minutes of running passes.

"Oh, we're almost there. I can feel it." Kenji exclaims .

"Oh, it's real! Guys, we're going home!" Yasmina shouts. A pang of guilt hits the girl and she stumbles for a moment . What about Hecate and Ben? The group stops as Darius climbs a tree. He grunts as he hits the ground.

"The bonfire, it's gone." He says with a frown.

"What if they left? What if the people who came to save us gave up and we missed our chance!?" Sammy yells, panicking. Yasmina opens her mouth to comfort the girl but is cut off by a loud growl. They gasp as they begin running again before gathering behind a large tree.

"Could be a really big Compy, right?" Kenji asks, "Darius, didn't you say they were creepo skylarks?"

"I said they were crepuscular." He answers and they scream as a dinosaur comes running at them. Suddenly, tranquilizer darts hit the dino.

"Get down!" A mans voice calls out. More darts pierce the dinos skin. It stumbles for a moment before falling on its side. A woman gasps before running forward and grabbing a hold of Sammy.

"Oh, thank goodness. You're okay." She says.

"You are okay, aren't you?" The man asks.

"Who... Who are you?" Brooklynn asks, panting.

"Well, after all that, maybe you should call us your salvation..."

MUSCLES

Hecate stumbles and hides quickly behind a boulder, breathing heavily. Bambi runs past with a very large Zupaysaurus running after her. The girl knew taking the eggs would have consequences but she never thought it'd mean being chased by a momma carnivore.

Karen, as Hecate has named the momma dino, has been chasing Bambi and the teen for what she assumes is an hour. She thinks Karen is trying to convince Bambi that she's the child's real mother. Don't give in, Bambi!! Hecate screams in her mind.

Bambi races past the rock and Hecate grabs the dinos neck and swings onto her back into a sitting position, "In the trees, Bambi! Like I taught you!!" She yells and clicks her tongue a few times. Bambi sprints for a couple more meters before leaping onto a low branch of a large tree. She jumps to a few more higher limbs and settles down. Hecate glances down and watches as Karen looks around for her missing baby. Karen sniffs the air for a few minutes before trotting away.

"Whoo, good job, Bambi!" Hecate had been trying to teach Bambi how to climb during the last few days or so. This is the first time they've tried it so suddenly and the girl is very proud of her dino child. Now that Karen has been handled, Hecate has another problem. The two were wandering the day before and found a pair of adults trying to murder dinosaurs for their collection. Bambi, obviously, scared them off for a moment but they need to get rid of them completely before more dinos are killed.

Bambi hops down with a thud and grunt. Hecate jumps off before pulling a piece of cloth from her pocket. She holds it to Bambi and the dino takes in the scent for a moment.

"Got it?" She says, "Good, now let's go find that couple."
