"We need to go." Darius says after Mae goes into the kitchen once more for drinks.

"Maybe not." Sammy replies.

Darius huffs, "But Mae works for the company that blackmailed your family."

"And I did, too," Sammy continues, "Sometimes, good people can be made to do bad things by bad people."

Brooklynn sighs, "Let's at least check out that dangerous area. What if there's a phone or a way off the island, and she's just trying to keep us away from it?"

"Why would she do that?"

"So we can't tell anyone about whatever shady stuff Mantah Corp is doing here." Kenji buts in

"Okay. I'll keep her busy while you check it out." Darius replies. Sammy agrees, saying that she'll stay as well, "Maybe we'll get some answers while we're at it."

"Wait," Yaz starts, "What about Hecate?"

"Take her with you," Darius says immediately. His voice is harsh as he speaks, taking Yaz off guard.

She scoffs slightly, not liking his tone, "I doubt she wants to be around you either," Yaz mutters. Brooklynn laughs quietly before staying quiet when Darius looks at her.

Yasmina walks off into the kitchen. She smiles at Mae before walking past her. She grabs Hecate hand, making her eyes widen, and drags her out. Her girlfriend stumbles before regaining her balance.

Neither speak as she sneaks out obediently, though her cheeks burn.

"What are we doing?" Hecate asks once they get out of the cave. Yaz has yet to let go of her hand as they walk.

"We're going to that dangerous place Dr. Turned told us about." Brooklynn answers. She turns her head back to look at the duo before sighing and turning back around.

The group stops in front of another metal platform. Kenji bends down and knocks on it harshly, "Another metal rectangle, like the one we saw in the desert."

"Bones. It's a feeding platform." Brooklynn replies

"Which means we should probably get outta here before mealtime." Ben grunts

Kenji straightens himself before changing the subject, "Ben. I am curious. Uh, who ate grubs first? You or Bumpy?"

"On purpose? Me." He replies. Hecate rolls her eyes with a small laugh before tuning them out.

Her eyes drift down to her hand in Yaz's again. She winces, stumbling slightly as pain shoots through her stomach. Yasmina immediately stops in worry.

"Are you okay? Is it your stomach again?" She asks while walking Hecate over to a tree to rest. The other three stop and look back but Yaz waves them off. Kenji shrugs and keeps walking with Brooklynn and Ben following.

Hecate nods with an arm clutched around her stomach. Ever since she was brought back by her godfather, she's had episodes like the one in the desert where she pukes up blood.

Both her and Yasmina decided that the only cause would be the venom from the Scorpius Rex. Realistically, any other person would still be dead. Some of that dinosaur DNA must've been what's keeping Hecate alive, there's no other explanation the two can think of.

Yaz raises her hand, pressing her sleeve to Hecate nose, "Your nose is bleeding again." She says softly.

Hecate groans and leans into Yaz, "I'm so tired, Yasmina." She whispers back.

Yaz is silent for a moment before speaking, "...I'm sorry, Cate."

"For what? You haven't done anything wrong."
