The group walks through the weird metal hallway and lights flash on. They keep walking before another door opens and they walk into a lush, green forest.
"Guys, do you remember how, like, five seconds ago, we were in a desert?" Brooklynn asks.
"What the hell is this place?" Hecate mumbles before the ground shakes, making the group gasp. It happens again but a loud bang follows.
"No, it can't be."
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say that feels like a..." Sammy says and a creature snorts, stomping forward.
Hecate groans as the T-Rex roars and the group starts to run. They run for a bit before hiding behind a large tree.
"You have got to be kidding me!" Ben exclaims, "Does every island have dinosaurs now!?"
"Let's ask her." Darius asks and motions to a woman watching two t-rexes while eating a sandwich.
Her head whips towards them and the sandwich falls from her mouth, "You're trespassing. What are you up to?" She gasps suddenly, holding her iPad closer to her, "Are you here to spy?"
Kenji rolls his eyes, "Yeah. We're an elite band of teenage secret agents."
"Are you crazy?" Brooklynn whispers, "You're eating a sandwich in the middle of a T. rex fight?"
"First of all, they're not fighting. They're pla—" the woman starts but is cut off by Darius.
"Playing! Cranio-facial biting! It's true!" He exclaims, excited
"Uh, yes. Don't change the subject!" She says
"Lady, we don't wanna be here, either." Hecate says next, leaning against the tree, still pale, "We just wanna go home."
"Oh, yeah, we'll see about that. Follow me." The woman stands and begins walking.
...
"You really expect me to believe that children survived alone on Isla Nublar for over ten months?" The woman asks
"Trust me. It's hard for us to believe, too." Darius replies.
Hecate scoffs quietly and rolls her eyes, "I was surviving just fine on my own." She mutters, earning a frown from Yaz.
"Mm-hm. I suppose you must be telling the truth, because who would make up such a crazy story if they didn't have to," the woman replies and pushes her glasses further up her nose, "Not saying that you don't have to, or that you're crazy, but who knows? I don't know you, you don't know me for that matter," she says, rambles, "Am I yammering on? I've been out here for the better part of a month with no one to talk to, and I guess I had more to say than I realized."
Darius continues looking at her, "You look so familiar." He states. He furrows his eyebrows as if trying to remember why. Hecate feels Yasmina flinch beside her as the dinosaurs roar. Darius gasps and the groups attention turns back to them.
"Don't worry. They're almost tuckered out. They won't bother us." The woman says, easing some of the tense atmosphere.
"How could you know that?" Sammy asks.
"I study dinosaur brains." The woman answers and chuckles, "Behavioral paleoneurobiologist. I'm Mae Turner—"
Darius cuts her off once more, "Turner! That's it! You're Dr. Mae Turner!" The boy exclaims, "It's an honor to meet you. I read your book. A Theoretical Emotional Journey with Theropods."
"Ah, you were the one!" She laughs again awkwardly.
"Could you just give us a phone?" Hecate says, irritated, "Some of us would like to get home."
