Lily had prepared everything she would need for her lessons. She packed a thick empty notebook and a few charcoal pencils. She wrapped them in a blanket and tied a long strip of leather around it and her hips like a belt.
Her maids told her she had to dress nice to go to the castle but Lily was at least able to convince them to a shorter and lighter dress. It was made of different lace materials and sparkled when the light hit it right. She wore comfortable riding boots so that she wouldn't lose a shoe in the air. She decided to leave her hair down again as she loved how long and silky it was. After making sure she had everything she needed, she said her goodbyes to her family and decided to ride on Dragos back this time. He was starting to get jealous. The letter she was given said to meet her new tutor at the training grounds so she was going to head straight there. She wasn't sure what her tutor looked like as she had never met him, but Arthur told her he was an elf with white hair.
Lily, who didn't even know that elves were real, was extremely excited about her lessons. Lily flew high through the sky with Alaska following behind her. She could see the training grounds and tried looking for the description she was told. When she spotted a man with white hair and pointy ears she knew it was him and started to land. She didn't see the young boy standing right next to him.
Christophers pov
I was talking to Elros about my new fiance. He was trying to convince me to see the bright side, but I was still mad at my father. No matter what this girl is like, I won't love her. Elros has been our palace mage since my great-grandfather. He has known me since I was born and seems to think I'm exaggerating about this whole ordeal. I was about to snap at him for thinking such silly thoughts when we heard a roar above our heads. A large black dragon was flying straight for us. I pulled out my sword and took a few steps back when I noticed someone on his back. Who was crazy enough to ride on the back of a dragon?
When she got closer and I was able to get a better look at the dragon rider, I felt my heartbeat quicken. Her long black hair was flying gracefully around her face. Her skin was pale but had a slight rosy tint to it. Her blue eyes were captivating and seemed to glow. She looked like an angel descending from heaven. Who was this girl? I didn't care who she was, I wanted to know more about her.3rd person pov
Lily landed in front of her new tutor and waved hello with a large smile. She jumped off Dragos's back and ran up to the elf. She did a small curtsy as a show of respect.
"It's a pleasure to meet the royal mage Elros. My name is Liliana Kingsley. Please feel free to call me Lily. I'm humbled to get to work with someone of your caliber."
She looked up to get a good look at her new tutor. She read stories about elves living for a long time so she had no idea how old this man was and she did not want to come across as someone with no manners.
His white hair was tied back into a low ponytail. He wore robes that seemed to be made of expensive materials and had a soft smile on his face as he welcomed me."The pleasure is all mine to get the honor of teaching someone as brilliant as you are. I've heard stories of your magic and I'm quite excited to see it for myself. Let me introduce you to Christopher, he has been my student for a few years now. I hope you two will get along."
Lily turned her head to look behind the man to see a boy about her age watching her interaction.
He also had white hair but it was shorter and looked fluffy. For some reason, she wanted to pet him. She smiled and walked over to him and curtsied again."I look forward to learning with you Christopher, please feel free to call me Lily as well." She looked up only to see his face had gone very red. She giggled to herself at how cute he looked when he scoffed and walked away from her.
"I haven't seen a dragon in over a hundred years. May I get closer to him?" Elros asked the young girl. She smiled up at him, happy that someone could tell just how cool her familiars were.
"Of course, you can even ride him if you would like."
"May I?"
"Sure, they are used to the duke and duchess and my brother Alex riding them. I think it's ok as long as I give permission."
The elf looked extremely excited and didn't hesitate to agree. As he was getting on Drago, Christopher was looking nervous as he watched his teacher climb on the back of the dragon. When Lily noticed she reached for his hand.
"Do you want to ride on Alaska with me?"
He was about to say no until he watched the dragon start to flap his wings and he saw how excited the old elf was. He slowly nodded his head as he let his new fiance grab his hand and pull him on top of the large white tiger with wings. He sat there fidgeting at first until Lily grabbed his hands and placed them in her waste.
"You're gonna fall if you don't hold on. Don't let go, ok?"
The boy gulped as he just nodded his head. He still wasn't sure how he was supposed to talk to her and he had a feeling she didn't know he was the prince she was forced to be engaged with.
