After the duke and dutchess got their turns to ride the magical creatures. Arthur explained to his son that Lily would be his new sister. The boy approved immediately, loving the idea of having a cute little sister who had such strong companions. The dutchess took Lily to a large room that she told her would only be temporary as they prepared her quarters.

Lily was dragged into a bath shortly after making it to her room and was scrubbed from head to toe by maids. She kept her head low in embarrassment at others washed her body, which made the maids giggle at her cute, blushing face. They helped her out and dried her hair.

She was dressed in a simple light blue dress that fell just to her knees. When the maids had her stand in front of a mirror, she gasped at her reflection. She had long silky black hair that was almost past her butt. Her blue eyes sparkled like the sea, and her skin was smooth and shiny thanks to the lotion the maids rubbed on her. Her lips were full and pink. She had to admit that she looked like a rich person's daughter but still felt out of place.

She wasn't quite sure what she should do now. In her past life, she was confined to her room by her parents. The duke and duchess never told her to stay in her room but she did not feel like she could walk around like she owned the place. She decided to look around her new room. Her bedroom was huge. She had a large king bed with curtains draped around it for privacy. There were two small sofas facing each other and a small coffee table in between. Her bathroom had a large underground tub and it even had plumbing for her toilet. She had missed plumbing the most from her past life.

She continued looking around her room for a while before a maid knocked on her door and let her know dinner was ready. She followed her downstairs to one of the many dining rooms to meet the duke and his family. In the dining room, she saw Arthur sitting at the end of a long table filled with all different types of food. Gabriella sat on his right and Alexander to his left. She was about to sit at the other end of the table before Alexander called for her to sit by him. He looked excited to be sitting next to her, so she took cautious steps until she sat next to him. Arthur said a prayer to the goddess as thanks for the food and everyone started putting food on their plate. Lily was overwhelmed by the amount of food in front of her and did not know where to start. Gabriella must have noticed her thoughts because she giggled and told me to only eat what I wanted.

"Do you always eat this much?"

The question was rude, she was very aware of that, but she couldn't understand why they had the cooks make so much food.

"Tonight we are celebrating the new addition to the family. I wasn't sure what you liked so I told them to make as many different dishes as possible and we could determine what you liked then."

So it was my fault that they wasted so much food. At first, I was happy that they were trying to welcome me, but this was just wasteful. Gabriella giggled once more, she could either read minds or I showed my thoughts on my face.

"The food will not be thrown away. The rest will be given to the staff of the mansion."

"I see, thank you for that explanation."

"So Lily, is there anything you would like to do in the future? I'm quite curious to learn more about you. I've always wanted a daughter but don't feel pressured to call me mom if it's too uncomfortable."

Gabriella looked nervous asking such a grown and intelligent child to call her mom, but Lily could tell how badly she wanted it.

"Would you like me to call you mom?" The woman's eyes went wide and she stared at the little girl with a bright smile on her face.

"I would love it, but like I said you don't have to if it makes you uncomfortable."

"Ok, well then mom. My dream has always been to see the world. I hope to become strong enough to explore the world one day. I want to see different places and meet different people."

"Me too I wanna travel the world with sister!" Alexander was so excited at the prospect he ended up sounding his actual age for once. Arthur had told her he was a serious boy who acted older than his real age and didn't show his emotions, but that was not the boy sitting next to Lily with a blinding smile stuck on his face. Arthur laughed at his son before he looked up to Lily.

"We have a library that holds books about the different kingdoms and customs. I'm afraid it's not as impressive as the one in the castle, but it has hundreds of books. I could hire a tutor to teach you how to read. That would be the best start for your journey."

"Really! Do you have a library with hundreds of books? Am I allowed to read them?" Her full attention was on the noble sitting at the end of the table. He let out a heartfelt laugh at her excitement over books. He didn't think someone from her village would even know what books were.

"If you want I could teach you how to read and write." The duchess said. "I could also teach you about noble edict. Let's have tea in the mornings before breakfast."

"Ok, thank you, mom." Gabriella's smile only grew as I called her mom. She seemed nice and even wasn't scared to ride in Alaska. I was ok with her being my mom.
