Agastya's POV
Life had been chaotic since graduation. On the surface, everything seemed perfect. I owned a successful company, raking in profits but beneath the surface, everything was a mess. The one person I needed most, the one person I wished had stood by me through it all, had vanished.
Despite being engaged to Shanaya, I never stopped searching for Amira. I asked her friends, but they had no answers. I even went to her old house, only to find it sold, her life there erased as if she had never existed. The amount of hate I built up for her over the years was unimaginable. The betrayal cut deep, and I knew I could never forgive her for disappearing without a word.
Today, Yaksh's teacher contacted me, asking for a meeting to discuss something about him. Concern gnawed at me, so I hurried over, not knowing what to expect. As I walked into the room, my heart nearly stopped. Standing there with Yaksh was Amira.
For a brief moment, I felt everything—the shock, the hurt, the longing. But I had become a master at hiding my emotions over the years. I set my jaw and steadied my gaze, appearing as if she was just another stranger.
"Agastya," she began, her voice trembling slightly. "Yaksh is your son."
I ignored her words, maintaining my cold demeanor. My heart ached at the sight of her, but I couldn't let her see that. I couldn't let her know the turmoil she had caused. The discussion with the teacher was a blur. I answered questions mechanically, my focus sharp but my mind elsewhere. Amira stood there, her eyes pleading, but I refused to acknowledge her. When the meeting finally ended, I took Yaksh's hand and walked out without a backward glance
.
As I left, I could feel her shock and confusion, the weight of my cold shoulder pressing down on her. But I couldn't care. The pain she caused me was too deep, the scars too raw. She had made her choice years ago, and now she had to live with the consequences.I left the school with Yaksh, my heart heavy but my resolve unbroken. Amira had reentered my life, but she would never again hold the place she once did. She was a ghost of my past, and I had no intention of letting her haunt my future
.
Amira's POVSince the last time I saw Agastya, all the memories were triggered. I am happy that he is content in his life with his family. My family is also pressing me to settle down, but I am just not sure. I was lost in my thoughts until I saw Yaksh coming towards my table.
"Miss, app bahut achi ho," he said.
I smiled and replied, "So sweet of you, Yaksh." With that, he left.Days passed, and Yaksh and I grew close, like a mother and son. He would make cards for me, sometimes cry and hug me. I was also getting attached to him. In these five months, Yaksh had changed a lot. He was much happier now and never missed a day in class. Once, he told me he liked talking with me. I am happy that I am helping him with whatever he's dealing with.
Today, every student left with their parents, and I was waiting for Yaksh's driver to come, but he was quite late. I didn't leave Yaksh alone. Suddenly, an old lady came. Yaksh quickly hugged her, happy to see her.
I asked Yaksh, "Who is she?"
While smiling, he said, "She is my grandmother. I love my grandma."I was happy to see their bond until I noticed his grandmother looking at me with a huge smile on her face. I greeted her.
She said, "You have no idea how much Yaksh loves talking about you."I just smiled. She began, "He was not talking with anyone in the family. He was always upset, but one day, he came home all happy and told me about his favourite Amira Miss."
I said, "I take care of every student in my class. Yaksh is also my dearest student."The old lady said, "I just want to thank you."
I replied, "It's my duty."But she said, "I want to invite you to Yaksh's birthday."
I was shocked and tried denying, but Yaksh said, "If you won't come, I won't cut the cake."
I was hesitating but finally said, "Okay, I will come."
Little did I know I had messed up because Agastya and Shanaya would both be there, and I wouldn't be able to do anything.Days passed, and as this new session started I was checking some documents of students until I saw Yaksh's documents. I was looking at his cute picture until my eyes landed on his father's name. I was in disbelief and shocked to see Ranveer Choudhary written there. Then I saw his mother's name; it said Shivani.
I was shocked. Yaksh isn't Agastya's son? I was left with questions.
