Lia walked away from the Gilbert house. She had been using an extendable ear to listen the conversation. She had many magic tricks that could have done the same thing but sometimes it was fun to use the classics.Apparently they were keeping Elena locked up in her room which was a relief. Hopefully that meant she wouldn't get in to too much trouble.
Cordelia heard someone behind her and turned around as Elijah walked up beside her. "Hello, Cordelia. How are you today?"
Lia rolled her eyes. "I've never been a fan of pleasantries and small talk. What is it you want Elijah."
"Very well. I'm under the impression you know where Katerina is. I wish to speak to her."
"Are you sure she wants to speak to you?"
"I promise I will not harm her. I simply wish to understand why she trusts you."
"That's simple. I'm fantastic." Lia debated the pros and cons. She knew there was no way Elijah would be able to hurt Katherine physically not with her there. But she also didn't want him getting in her head.
She was at a fragile point in life with realizing her sisters had been watching her for centuries.
But she supposed she was curious to see how the conversation would go. "I'll bring you to her but if she wants you to leave, you will or I'll make you."
"Of course." If there was one thing she liked about Elijah it was that he knew better than to mess with her.
They walked to her house and she open the door. "Come in." Elijah raised his eyebrow but Lia only smirked.
She wasn't afraid of Elijah. She hadn't let the Salvatore's in because she hadn't wanted to deal with how annoying they'd be but honestly no one in this town had any chance against her. She had been fighting for survival her whole life.
They walked in and followed the voices towards the library where they were greeted by an interesting conversation. Caroline and Katherine were in the middle of an argument involving one of Lia's favorite books that Kat was holding.
"I'm not saying it's bad. I'm saying that it's not realistic. I mean Greek gods are not real and if they were you think they'd have a summer camp in New York.
"It's not meant to be realistic. It's meant to be entertaining. Plus we're vampires. Addy and Lia are witches and dragons are real. What even is realistic?"
"They're for children."
"So, most of Lia's best spells were inspired by these books. And-" They both seemed to notice they had company and looked up.
Katherine scowled at the sight of Elijah immediately. "Katerina."
Kat turned to Lia. "What is he doing here?"
"He wanted to see you. And honestly I live for the drama."
Care and Kat gave her matching eye rolls to which she responded with a wink.
"Suddenly this book doesn't seem so bad anymore."
"Excuse me, those books are a delight. They are filled with many practical solutions for how to survive lots of deadly scenarios. Helped me a lot as a child. And if you want him to leave he will."
"He's not exactly the type to give up."
"Yes, while he knows when he's overstayed his welcome and he doesn't want to make me mad now, does he?" She twisted the godly beads around in her fingers as she tilted her head with a smirk.
"Of course not. In fact I have much to speak about with the doppelgänger. Goodbye Cordelia. Katerina."
He zoomed away and Caroline snorted. "I don't even get a mention. How rude."
