Caroline rolled her eyes as her sister apparated away. "They're so lazy. I mean honestly they never walk anywhere."

Klaus was staring at the place where Lia and Addy had left confused. "How-"

"Have you not realized who Lia is yet. She'd be disappointed. She loves to think she's so special which I mean technically she is but still it's exhausting dealing with her ego."

Klaus was staring at her like she was crazy so she decided to start getting to the point. "Have you ever heard of a witch that was both Wiccan and Core?"

Realization finally dawned on his face. "The Twice Witch."

"Precisely. I came up with the nickname myself when we were five."

"I always thought that whole thing was a joke. I mean a Wiccan and a Core witch having a child."

Caroline shrugged. "Well a lot of witches thought it would show that they could work together. That was until they found out Cordelia was a siphon. For some reason the Wiccan took it as a fact that she had to be evil and they've been trying to kill her ever since."

"It seems like Cordelia was excited at the chance to turn someone into a vampire. Who exactly was she going to see?"

"Her uncle. The Gemini Coven hate siphoners more than anyone else. The Core tried to erase Lia from their memory but it didn't fully work and let's just say they don't have the best relationship."

They were both silent for a while until Klaus spoke up. "Why aren't you trying to stop the ritual and save your friend?"

"Well, firstly there are ways to make sure Elena comes back to life so that's not a big deal. And I can't claim to know everything about this ritual but from what I understand it's binding a part of you and that seems really painful. I can only imagine how difficult it would be for Lia if someone took away half of her powers."

When they were six, Cordelia had become dead set on not using Wiccan spells because of the way all the Wiccan hated her. But she'd barely made it a month before using their magic again. She'd claimed that she hadn't felt complete not using it.

"No one deserves that pain." Caroline continued. "No matter what they did."

Klaus looked at her a bit differently now. "Maybe you just haven't heard the stories of how many terrible things I did."

"I try not to pay too much attention to the stories. After all the stories about Cor are as horrific as the worst of them. But there's so much more to a person than what that story tells you. So I find it easier not to judge a person until a meet them."

He raised an eyebrow. "And now that you've met me?"

"I think you're horribly full of yourself and your plans are far less impressive than you believe them to be, but you're not entirely a bad person."

"How sweet."

Caroline laughed. "It's not all bad. I'm used to dealing with people with annoyingly high egos. I live with Lia and Addy and now Kat."

Klaus scowled at the name and Caroline rolled her eyes. "She's really not that bad. I know you don't like her because she stopped you from breaking your curse but honestly you have to look at it from her point of view. She was 17 and scared. You were human once and don't pretend you've never been scared before."

He opened his mouth but before he could try to deny it she cut him off.

"It's not a bad thing. After all one cannot be brave who has no fear."

"Fear keeps us human. A lot of people after becoming vampires become fearless because now they're immortal but nothing is ever truly immortal." She had learned that from Lia years ago.
