After making sure corgi-Kol and Vader were dropped off at an expensive and luxurious hotel for dogs — since Anastasia refused to leave her babies in the hands of hybrids who tended to be targets in Mystic Falls — they were off to northern Italy. Not the most exciting town in Italy but one could not get everything in life.

Anastasia had been to Italy a few times before and she could with certainty say that this trip would land a bottom place in the ranking of her best days in Italy. Klaus didn't waste any time searching for the sword so instead of exploring the beautiful country Anastasia found herself at an archaeological excavation.

"Is it really worth it?" Anastasia asked Klaus. She stood leaned against a table that had been set up and watched the men work on finding the sword.

"What?" Klaus asked, standing beside her.

"Going through all this trouble just to turn Elena back into a human?" Anastasia clarified. "History will just repeat itself. Stefan will work with you until Elena is human again and then he and his brother will go back to protecting her with their lives. It's not like she will be so grateful for how you helped her find the cure that she agrees to become your blood donor for the remainder of her mortal life."

"I won't give her a choice in the manner," Klaus smirked. "If she wants the cure, she'll have to give me enough blood to create more hybrids when I want to."

"And it will last for a week until she remembers that she hates you," Anastasia said, wondering if he gentility believed that Elena would give up her blood without a fight. "Then the Salvatore brothers will cook together some half ass plan to kill you and your family to spare their beloved from the pain of donating her blood every now and then."

Not giving him an opportunity to cut in, Anastasia continued, "Not to mention that it's only a matter of time before she accidentally dies again. Not only is she a Petrova doppelgänger who attracts the supernatural drama like a moth to a flame, she has two vampires fighting for her love, one of her best friends is a vampire dating one of your hybrids and the other a witch with no idea what she's doing."

"I've waited a millenia to create my army," Klaus told her. "If there is a cure, it's worth the hassle."

"No matter how many people die in the process," Anastasia muttered bitterly. That she'd long ago come to accept how death was inevitable when it came to the Mikaelsons, it did not mean she could look past it.

Most of the time she did. Especially when those killed were vampires, witches or werewolves that actually had done something to deserve the Original Hybrid's rage. But in Mystic Falls some of those being caught in the crossfire were innocent humans who didn't even know about the supernatural world.

"Death is a part of life, Nastya," Klaus shrugged uncaringly.

"An easy outlook on life when you're immortal," Anastasia retorted pointedly. Any response Klaus had was silenced when his phone plinged, signalling that he'd received a message. "You better see what's that about," she told him, "it might be Stefan telling you that Damon found out about your little plan and has kidnapped Rebekah for leverage."
