"And I think you and I have a lot to discuss — wouldn't you agree, princess?"
"I really want to say no right now just for the sake of not agreeing with you," Anastasia told him truthfully, grabbing his leg in a very pathetic attempt to pull him off her bed. "Where are your manners? You don't wear shoes in bed!"
"If you want to undress me — be my guest, darling," Kol smirked, not budging at all when she continued her poor attempts to drag him off the bed; instead he placed his arms behind his head in a casual manner.
Anastasia picked up another pillow and prepared to hit him, only for Kol to use his vampire speed to take her wrist. "I hope you understand that if anyone else tried to smack me with a pillow — they'd be dead after the first attempt."
"Aaaw, I love it when you smoothly threaten me by reminding me that anyone else would be dead if they did what I do," Anastasia snatched her wrist back. "Don't move — I'll be back in a minute."
With those words, Anastasia left her room to check up on Kol and Vader. She found them in the living room where both dogs greeted her with excitement. Since Klaus advised her against any midnight promenades she only let them out for a run in the garden and then made sure to feed them.
About fifteen minutes later, she entered her room again with both Vader and Kol trailing behind her. Once both dogs were inside, she closed the door. She half expected to find the Original vampire snooping around but instead he'd obeyed her command; his shoes were now discarded on the floor along with his jacket and he remained lying down on her bed with his eyes closed and earbuds in his ears.
He looked peaceful...
That didn't last for a long time when Vader spotted the vampire. With an excited bark, he ran towards the bed and leaped up to greet the Original. Due to his supernatural hearing, Kol wasn't totally surprised by the sudden attack and even if he tried to hide it, she could see his smile when the Rottweiler wagged his tail and tried to lick his face.
"Haven't you raised your dog not to attack people," Kol muttered.
"No, I raised him to attack people," Anastasia said, placing her corgi on the bed since she knew he couldn't climb up on his own. "And don't act like you don't have a soft spot for animals."
"I don't," Kol insisted, giving the corgi a bitter glare, "especially not the yappy little rat." Like he'd understood the insult, the corgi growled in displeasure.
"You do realise that you're having a feud with a fluffy little dog that never did anything to you, right?" Anastasia told him with an unimpressed look. "You're a thousand year old vampire — grow up."
"And you are a hundred year old grand duchess," Kol said, steering them back to one of the topics he wanted to discuss with her. "It must have slipped your mind to mention that."
