After Kol left the previous night, Anastasia left the living room in disarray and retired to her own room. It had been an extremely stressful and eventful day that she honestly just wanted to end; Kol had nearly died and now Klaus wasn't talking to her. Truth be told, she just wanted the day to end.

Unfortunately, sleep did not come easily to Anastasia that night. She spent most of it tossing and turning in her bed, thinking about where Kol had gone and what Klaus could be doing right now. She didn't even know if he was still in the mansion.

After catching a few hours of very restless sleep, Anastasia got ready for the day and took the dogs out for a quick morning walk around the garden. It was dead quiet inside the house which made her wonder if Klaus was so disgusted by her presence that he'd left. Sitting alone in the kitchen, she ate some cereal and drank coffee.

Even though she'd eaten breakfast alone on countless occasions, there was something particularly depressing about this time. Therefore, she glared at the container of melted ice cream on the kitchen counter that just reminded her of everything that happened a few hours ago.

Once she'd finished, Anastasia placed her dirty dishes in the dishwasher and threw the ruined ice cream in the trash. Tapping her fingers against the counter, she considered her options. She could spend the day checking through Kol's old grimoires in search for a way to destroy the White Oak Stake. Or she could try to get Klaus to forgive her.

When it came to an angry Klaus, it was sometimes for the best to let him cool off on his own. The problem was that Klaus also happened to be stubborn to a fault and therefore he would never make the first move and talk to her. It was a fine line to walk between only making him more angry and actually moving forward.

Eventually, Anastasia decided to give talking to Klaus a chance. Being on the receiving end of his anger wasn't something she was used to but she couldn't bear the thought of living under the same roof as somebody who hated her.

Going into his bedroom was out of the question since that definitely only would worsen her chances of getting on his good side. But since it was too late for him to be sleeping either way, Anastasia didn't think he was there either way; he didn't cope with betrayal by lying in his bed all day moping.

No — he tended to be more expressive...

Quickly, Anastasia made her way out of the kitchen and up the stairs to the art studio. Whenever Klaus was upset he either went on a murderous rampage or spent hours locked inside painting.

The door to the studio was closed. Before opening it, Anastasia took a deep breath to gather her nerves,
well-aware that if Klaus was inside he could hear her. Then she pushed down the handle and entered to find Klaus with his back to her.

"I see you're working on your tenebrism," Anastasia said, hoping to start a conversation about something other than the reason he was angry at her. "It looks good."
