"Nik hasn't told you about Silas?" Kol asked, sitting up beside her.
"No, if he had, I wouldn't have asked you who he is, would I?" Anastasia said.
"Ease down on the attitude, princess," Kol told her, pinching her hip warningly. "Silas is the world's first immortal being."
"The real Original?" Anastasia questioned, never having heard him mentioned before. To be fair though, most of what she knew of the supernatural world was things Klaus had told her.
"No," Kol shook his head. "Silas isn't a vampire. He was a powerful witch."
"An immortal witch? How is that even possible?" Anastasia wondered. Kol simply gave her a blank look. "For once I'm not a witch — and second I am technically not immortal on my own. My life is bound to Klaus's. If the spell cast to link our lives was broken, I would die."
Kol frowned upon hearing those words, but didn't say anything. Instead he went back to the topic of Silas and said, "Centuries ago I came upon a group of witches that worshipped Silas. And to make a long story short, when I heard that bringing back Silas would trigger the end of time I killed all of them."
"Oh," Anastasia said, taking in his words. The end of all time definitely didn't sound good. Judging by Rebekah's reaction, Kol wasn't the only one who'd heard that bad things would happen if Silas woke up again, but unlike him she didn't seem too worried.
"Oh?" Kol said disbelievingly. "That's all you have to say?"
"I am processing slowly," Anastasia told him. "And you're sure these witches were serious about this and not just crazy?"
"Yes, I am sure," Kol said, a little annoyed by the question.
"I am just making sure," Anastasia told him, brows furrowed in deep thought. So far she hadn't really put much thought in their search for the Cure. While she'd preferred if Klaus just gave up on this obsessive need to make hybrids, she understood that this was something he'd dreamed about for centuries. But if obtaining the Cure risked the end of the world, then she needed to rethink her role in this. "I don't want to see the end of the world any more than you do – trust me."
"So you believe me," Kol said, sounding surprised.
"To paraphrase Nik – you have a 'weird obsession with magic' and your 'knowledge in that particular surpasses his'. I guess that means you are the Mikaelson to trust when it comes to anything witch-related," Anastasia said. "And I can't really see you have an ulterior motive for not wanting Silas to rise again – especially since you were helping Rebekah before you found out the Cure equals Silas."
Kol just blinked, at a loss of words because she was actually trusting him with this. He wasn't used to receiving that kind of trust from anyone. His siblings always questioned his motives and dismissed his concerns.
