"For how long are you planning on giving me the cold shoulder?" Klaus asked, leaning against the kitchen island as he observed the siphon eat her breakfast in silence.

"Until you see reason," Anastasia told him.

"Kol is running around with the White Oak Stake and homicide on the brain, but I am the one who must see reason?" Klaus scoffed like a child — according to Anya. "Everything was going just fine until he let his irrational fear of Silas push him over the edge."

"And if I may ask, what part of his fear do you find entirely irrational?" Anastasia questioned. "If there is even the slightest risk that bringing back Silas would bring the end of the world, is it truly worth risking for some stupid hybrids-"

"Anastasia," Klaus said warningly, "this is not up for discussion. I will get the Cure — and Kol won't get in my way."

"Why do you trust Elena and her friends over your own family?" Anastasia asked him. "You and Elijah have been betrayed by them enough times to know that they will screw you over the second they get the opportunity."

"I am not trusting them," Klaus snapped, "far from it actually. But right now we have a common goal — and for as long as Kol is running around trying to sabotage our search for the Cure, he is the common enemy here."

"He is your brother," Anastasia reminded him. "Your family."

"Right now he's a nuisance that needs to be put down before he does any more damage," Klaus told her, fixing Anastasia with a hard look. "I know how to deal with my family. I don't expect you to understand."

"All I know is that no matter what, if Alexei had come to me with a genuine concern, I would not have dismissed him," Anastasia told him. "Because to some of us, family means more than our own ambitions and desires — and sometimes I actually pity you and your siblings for how you've spent a millenia making each other miserable."

With those words said, Anastasia stood up and walked away. Klaus was a little shocked by her outburst, and considered following her upstairs, but sometimes it was better to just let her cool down. Not to mention that he needed to stop by Rebekah's place to get the last dagger and then play prison guard for Damon Salvatore who was on lockdown because of Kol's compulsion.

Anastasia didn't know why she'd gotten so annoyed with Klaus. But hearing him speak so casually about Kol as the common enemy who needed to be put down made her angry. Even if she knew that Klaus wasn't planning on going further than daggering his little brother, it didn't sit right with her.

To be a little extra dramatic, Anastasia considered slamming her bedroom door close behind her, but reconsidered since Vader and Kol both were resting inside her room and she didn't want to startle them. She took out her phone and scrolled through her contacts. Upon locating Kol's number she sent him a quick text.
