Late Night Beach Parties

After thirty minutes and one grilled chicken club sandwich later, we had finally went back to Chanel's house to prep for the party tonight.

I still don't understand why you'd have a beach party at the coldest time of the day.

Chanel told me that they'd be doing a bonfire there so at least it wouldn't be as cold as anticipated.

"You're going to be freezing," I told Myles who was wearing swim trunks and a tank top.

He tied his swim trunks, "Uh- no I'm going to be in the water." he placed a hand on my shoulder before exiting the room entirely.

I did one final once over of my outfit before heading down too. Which was just a red crop top, jean shorts and some adidas with my curly hair down and framing my face.

I exited the large bedroom before heading downstairs to find Myles and Chanel in her spacious kitchen pouring shots.

I glanced between the two as they threw back shots, "I assume we're walking tonight?" I questioned knowing that I'd probably be the only one sober tonight.

"One of her butlers could drive us there. What's it called? A show for...?" Myles trailed off, pouring another shot.

Chanel shot Myles a narrowed look, "A chauffeur...?" she trailed off causing him to shrug, "And plus I sent him home for the day, it's only a five minute walk to the beach," she pointed out.

I averted my attention back to Myles as he filled another shot glass. "Aren't you drinking there too?" I questioned.

He threw back the clear liquid before a groan fell from his lips, "Of course I am, let's go so I could win beer pong and drink the Slurpee out of the giant wine glass." He said before heading to the front door.

They had this weird tradition at some parties where if you won you got to do exactly what Myles said, which is drink a Slurpee from a comically large wine glass.

Myles had been the winner for the past two years.

We walked down the street following the groups of teens who were also going to the party.

Which was another perk of living in a rich neighborhood.

Everyone walked everywhere majority of the time.

As we approached our destination, the blaring music filled my ears along with the faint sounds of people.

I was pulled out of my thoughts when Chanel suddenly halted me. "You can't walk in with us," she briefly said.

I raised a brow in confusion, "Pearl knows us, maybe if she sees you walk in with us the plan might be messed up," Myles explained.

"We'll be behind you, you go in first and look for them." Chanel continued.

I nodded my head before continuing on my path to the massive house. And as I approached the house people from both schools crowded the front lawn, either conversing or for some reason, were already drunk.

I walked through the sea of people into the house as the music filled my ears entirely.

I had no idea if I was supposed to meet Pearl somewhere or if—

"Cairo hey! I was looking for you, come on!" Pearl called over the music before grabbing my hand.

This all honestly felt so weird— and rushed.

Like I just speed ran a friendship.

But as I followed behind her through the crowds of people I couldn't help but keep Chanel's words on replay— especially since she was sort of like Regina George.

She said hi to the random people scattered in the house before leading me to the kitchen.
