The sound of the plate hitting and shattering against the patterned tile echoed throughout the auditorium, bringing everyone's attention to me and immediately felt put on the spot.

"Watch where you're going." A voice said from in front of me.

I lifted my head to find a blonde girl, wearing the usual Richwood colors in front of me.

"How about you watch where you're going." Chanel said, emerging from the crowd behind me with Myles.

Great, now this is causing even more of a scene.

She cocked a brow. "And who are you?" she asked with obvious irritation coating her voice.

Myles cut in front of me, blocking me with his arm,"Wouldn't you like to know? How about you apologize for knocking my plate out of her hands, pick up each individual shard, glue the plate back together hand it to me, with all cookies intact, all in thirty seconds." Myles said, making a girly voice. It was obvious he was joking but I don't think she got the memo.

She scoffed. "You Evergreen freaks are fucking jokes." her tone filled entirely with disgust as she crossed her arms.

"You're a fucking joke, plus you're blonde, so how does it feel to be an absolute waste of space." Chanel remarked and a bigger crowd began growing around us.

"Hey, I'm blonde!" Myles suddenly said, turning to face Chanel who gave him a faint smile.

"Not naturally."

"Pearl what's going on?" a brunette girl suddenly asked, squeezing from the crowd behind her.

Pearl?

I swear I've heard that name from somewhere.

The girl immediately came to her aid, so I would assume that's her friend coming to defend her.

"It's fine guys we can go." I said quietly, hoping that Chanel or Myles could hear me.

Unfortunately they didn't, and at least four more people in purple uniforms squeezed through the crowd to get toward us and that was my cue to leave.

I turned on my heel, away from the growing group and took one last glance at them.

But one of them in particular caught my eye, mostly because she was wearing pants with her uniform which wasn't allowed here so I could only believe it wasn't allowed at Richwood either.

Her hair was braided back and her low eyes were pinned onto the argument playing out.

But I felt completely off guard when her eyes slipped to mines, making my heart skip a beat. It was less than a second but her deep stare made it feel like an eternity. Until I broke away first, squeezing past the crowd, to exit the auditorium completely.

I squinted my eyes as the bright son bled through the now opened double doors, pushing past them.

I walked away from the auditorium to what I considered the furthest and quietest part from all the noise.

Which was about thirty feet away.

I sat down on the ledge and peered around the empty area taking in this brief moment.

When going to an outdoor school, people are always roaming the halls, taking detours, and doing literally anything besides going to class.

So seeing it empty like this had to be absolute bliss.

The short lived observation was thrown out of my mind when the seniors from my school started pooling out of the auditorium.

Soon enough Chanel and Myles were separating from the crowd and making their way over to me.
