Once September seemed to fade almost rapidly, October was approaching and that meant only one thing.Halloween.
And with Halloween, came our yearly friend group traditions.
We usually do something for each day of October before the big day actually comes, and since it's the first, we were starting today.
"The nightmare before christmas is a christmas movie I've been saying that," Chanel said with irritation lacing her tone.
"It's a Halloween movie— his holiday is literally Halloween," Myles shot back.
They've been at this all morning.
"His holiday is not Halloween anymore he decided that he wanted to switch it, so no its not a Halloween movie it's literally about him wanting to be santa." Chanel countered.
I wasn't in it of course, I didn't want to argue with either of them.
"It's a Halloween movie." he gritted out, stepping in front of her.
"It's not." she replied tightly while crossing her arms.
"It is."
"Its not—"
"Would it be a good idea to settle this and say that it's both a Halloween and Christmas movie?" I questioned, hoping that they could come to a middle ground.
And almost as soon as the words left my mouth they both turned to face me before saying—
"No."
I awkwardly pursed my lips as they turned back around to continue their bickering on what they thought was the most controversial subject ever.
And after they had been arguing nearly ten minutes it was time to head to school.
Soon at that.
"Can we just watch Corpse Bride and get it over with? And plus we have to be at school soon," I pointed out, grabbing my backpack off her bedroom floor.
Myles turned to face me, "No, because she cant recognize real content and appreciate the intricacy and time put into creating something like the nightmare before christmas," he turned back to her, "Which is not a christmas movie,"
"I'm not arguing with you on this topic anymore, we just won't watch the movie," Chanel said as she followed behind me as I grabbed Myles shoulders and led him out the door.
"Its a democracy, so if anything its up to Cairo—"
"We're not watching the movie," I quickly cut him off, shooting down the idea entirely, which caused him to scoff.
"You know you guys treat me unfairly," Myles joked while we walked down the massive driveway to exit the shiny gate.
I narrowed my eyes, "If anything im treated unfairly, im working two jobs over here," I replied referring to the fact that I am still attending two schools.
"It's for the greater good, who knows you might get a plaque in honor of your bravery," he shrugged.
We continued down the particularly empty street, walking past the massive houses that lined the streets.
I don't even know how they could afford this.
I couldn't deny the fact that I was jealous of course, it was just amazing how people could live like this.
"We have to figure out how to get you in two places at once though," Myles suddenly spoke.
Chanel hummed in agreement, "We're starting to begin the things for the Halloween bash and the principal is starting to notice your repetitive disappearances," she added.
