Jay beamed "Guess we found our place! Lead the way stranger we've only met now! What could go wrong?"

---------------------

School was back on.

Lloyd and his teammates had been training the days it was off. While it wasn't much, Lloyd did see some progress in their tactics and endurance.

There were some Garmattacks during this time, but they weren't worth mentioning. Lloyd was bombarded with questions though, after every battle. Mostly from Jay and Zane.

But now school was back on. That'd be fun. While Lloyd wasn't too fond of the idea of going back to school again, he did have to go back to finding the missing Masters. He and the team had thought of some possible candidats. Lloyd had shown them the app his uncle gave him. He wasn't sure how they'd react but they mostly used the rest of their time looking themselves up and being either offended or amused. Jay swore up and down he wasn't that jumpy.

Lloyd was on his way to the school. This time he noticed more people staring at him for some reason. Maybe it was because the last attack on the city was only one day back. He just kept his eyes forward. Some students were walking the same path he did. They either kept their distance several meters in front of him or several meters behind him.

He'd finally arrived at the school. He stayed at the gate for a bit. It was only his third day technically, but he'd already associated a deep sense of fright just by looking at it.

"LLOYD!! OVER HERE" he snapped back to his body and looked to his right.

They stood there, Jay waving to him while Cole and Zane were having a conversation. Would they seriously stick by his side even during school? He'd destroy every sense of popularity they had! They'd said it themselves! No wait..

He slowly walked towards them, still unsure. He could sense many students eyes not only on him, but on his teammates aswell.

"Hey buddy, how's it going?" Jay started.

"Uhhh hi, yeah good- good good..." Lloyd tried. "uhm" his voice dropping "Are you three sure you want to do this? I kinda have a reputation, you know..?"

"Don't be ridiculous. We wanna hang with you, we don't care what others think" Cole reassured.

"Mhmm.."

"Are we just gonna stand here or will we actually enter the school?" Jay asked.

Alright, here we go.

🐉

It went better than Lloyd had expected. Instead of his teammates being affected by him, it seemed he was affected by them. There weren't as many obvious glares or comments. it kinda seemed like they were a human shield of some sorts. Well that was objective.

They did leave to get to their own classes though. Lloyd was a bit younger than all of them, which meant he would be alone for most of the day. When he got to his table he saw it vandalised with various insults and also some drawings. He had to say, his bullies weren't the most artistic bunch, but he did make out the horns and also four arms on himself. He sat down. Neither the teacher nor he really acknowledged it.

The periods went down in a dreamlike haze. He tried to pay attention to his fellow students, looking for signs, but his luck went bye bye a few chapters ago.

Things looked brighter for lunch.

He sat down at his usual spot.

Soon after three other familiar faces sat down with him. He didn't bother trying to stop them this time. He just silently enjoyed his food with comfortable non-sense conversations filling his ears.
