I feel the sun on my face.
I see trees all around me.
I see wallflowers on a field.
Its so beautiful.

In this moment, im not stranded in space.

Its been 97 years since a nuclear apocalypse killed everyone on earth leaving the planet simmering in radiation. Fortunately, there were survivors.

Twelve nations had operational space stations at the time of the bombs. There is now only the Ark, one station forged from the many. Were told the Earth needs another 100 years to become survivable again. For more space-locked generations and man can go home, back to the ground.

The Ground.
Thats the dream.

The door to my cell is opened with a loud noise and two guards enter.

"Prisoner 312, face the wall!"
Reality sucks!

"What is this?"
"Quiet!"
"Hold out your right arm!" My eyes widen.
"No. No, its not my time! Im not 18!"

Every offence is punishable by death, unless you're under 18, in which case they wait until you're 18, which I wasn't yet. One of the men grabbed me, so I knocked him away and struggled. I grab the electric baton and push it down on the one man before I run out of my cell.

It wasn't just me they took, they took all the prisoners. All 100 of them. What the hell is going on?
I'm about to run away when the door of the cell next to me opens and more guards come towards me. Fuck! My heart is racing and I'm thinking of an escape plan when I see a blonde girl next to me, falling into her mother's arms. Clarke Griffon. The daughter of Abby and Jake Griffon.

"Mum? Mum. What's going on? What is this?" She seems full of fear and despair. "They're killing us all, aren't they?" I stop and listen to them in shock as Abby says, "Clarke your not being executed. Youre being sent to the ground. All 100 of you."

I can't believe it. Everything inside me can no longer move. What the? But before I can do anything, he grabs my arms and knocks me unconscious with the stun gun.

My eyes open and I look around. I'm sitting strapped into a chair and hear some shouting. An announcement comes on several screens from Jaha. Some of the teenagers seem to be having fun and unbuckle their seatbelts, while others squeeze their eyes shut in fear. "Hey! You two, stay put if you wanna live." My eyes drift to Clarke Griffon sitting on the other side of the spaceship. They don't seem to be listening to her, but at the moment I don't care. We are moving more and more violently and those who have broken free are now banging on the walls. I also start to scream as we hit the ground.

As everyone starts to unbuckle, I do the same while everyone gathers in front of the entrance. "The other door is on the other level. Let's go." Clarke stands up. "No, we cant just open the doors." I climb down the ladder and Clarke follows shortly after me. "Hey just back it up guys." A boy with black hair stands at the door and tries to calm everyone down. "Stop! The air could be toxic." Clarke pushes his way through the crowd to the boy at the front.

"The air's toxic, were all dead anyway." He is on his way to open the door when a girl from the crowd pushes her way to the front. "Bellamy?" Her voice sounds sad and excited at the same time. "Oh, my God. Look how big you are." The girl hugs him and when she lets go she looks at him sceptically. "What the hell are you wearing? A guard's uniform?"

"I borrowed it to get on the drog ship." I grimace, because something inside me clearly says that's not true. It's not long before they finally open the door. The warm sun is almost blinding us and everything is incredibly green. It's even more beautiful than I had imagined. Octavia runs downstairs and jumps onto the floor with a little skip. "Were back, bitches!" Everyone runs out and looks around, and I do the same.
